MW2 ass kissing?

Might be a good single player game, but heres a stat on my steam page. MW2's multiplayer has 73.3 hours logged by my friends. L4D2, 252.9 hours. Moder Warfare used to be all around good, not it's just a one trick pony.

Short but awesome campaign, crap multiplayer system (IWNet), numerous crashes and error messages, yet it's still very fun. I guess it's a great game, just a poor excuse for a PC game.

It's Halo 2 all over again. A perfectly decent game gets treated as the second coming of Christ by the media, and consequently people either adore it or act like it's utter shit.

Note that I haven't actually played MW2 yet, so this is just a guess based on what other people have said.

Seriously, people need to stop crying foul over professional reviewers giving games good/bad scores. It's their opinions: they have theirs, you have yours, yadda yadda yadda.

It actually works both ways. Publishers and developers will send big game review sites perks, extras and maybe even cash in return for good reviews, but at the same time, it's been proven that giving a game a good review will get more traffic to your site than a bad or average review.

It's a two way street... if you don't like a site's reviews, stop going to that site and maybe they will get the hint.

I find it pretty ridiculous though that, according to metacritic and the like, the best games ever made have all come out in the last two years. Scores are getting higher and higher to the point where it won't matter if you give a game a perfect 10 anymore as that will be commonplace.

Why does everyone hate this game. THE GAME IS ACUALLY PRETTY GOOD, GO PLAY IT SOME TIME. But seriosly, most of the hate based tword MW2 is unneeded, that and the people who are basing that hate listend to the media to much and got hyped up. Havent we all learned that hype isnt worth it. True, but ever notice how games made by huge companies never get bad reviews by the media (overall)?

That's because games made by huge companies are usually just better. Games only get a crap score if they are absolutely abysmal. No matter how bad I think Sega's new Sonic game is, it's still almost guaranteed to be more fun than a piece of shovel ware.

A game is always going to be compared to the other games available in the market. As the quality of games increases, so do the standards. Whats was once considered to be a great game 10 years ago would now be crap.

Again, that's just your opinion. I've seen a massive number of people praise the game. What makes you think your opinion is the right one?

And jeez, even if the game isn't as good as the hype led you to believe, the game does not "suck ass". Compared to other games available on the market, you could do a hell of a lot worse.

True, but when you get every major game being given 9/10 or 10/10 it becomes meaningless, there has to be bit of distinction because even if most of the games are good, they are still at differing levels.

That's just an inherent flaw with review scores. A high score suggests that the game is worth your money, and there are currently a lot of games that are worth the money. So naturally there is going to be a lot of good review scores.

But it's not like you should judge a game based on the score it was given. If you really want to know about the game's perks and flaws, you have to read the text. That's still reliable.

Internet Kraken is right. It is a bloody good game, just like the first MW. I don't get why everybody is so obsessed with multiplayer anyway. It's fun, but the campaign and spec ops completely destroys multiplayer any day!

The campaign was amazing and competes with some of my favorite games. It's holy shit factor makes each monet epic if not particularly deep.
Like a james bond movie if bond was a soldier not a spy.

The game is hardly perfect it has its glitches. Loose Ends on veteran they become apparently clear as RPGs kill you instantly as they leaves the launch tube no matter how far you are from it or head shoots don't always kill and when every second can determine life or death. But I would highly recommend this game. 8/10
