Loving it so far. Campaign is awesome.
Seconded. Is an absolute blast so far, have been meaning to stop for a few hours now but I keep getting sucked back in.
Are you a pre-existing fan of the CoD games or is this one of those surprisingly good campaigns?
The CoD campaigns generally bore me, I pretty much just play them through once and that's it, more an MP guy. This one is definitely better than MW2 and BLOPS.

I just got a question, is it as grey as many people seem to think it is?
No.

The first 2 levels are grey but there are a bunch of missions I have played so far that are just bursting with colour.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is coming out in a few hours (depending on where you live).

I thought it was going to be shite, and it's surprisingly good. I like it very much.

/shock and begin attacks by people that haven't played it yet, but are sure it will be Satan's spawn.

I got it yesterday(not at a midnight launch, I know a mom n pop store up the road that sells early on shit all the time), and it's actually a brilliant game.

Those are my thoughts.

Also, Jim Sterling gave it a 9.5 over at Dtoid. Just saying.
Yeah, he also gave BF3 a 7.5, which will cause the world to now melt into fanboy wars. XD

Dude it already has, the comments over there have exploded into all manner of fat jokes. The funny thing is, BF3 got a 7.5, and all we got was 60 posts of popcorn gifs and people expecting a flood of tears that never came, and MW3 gets a better score and then, le RAGE.
More people hate CoD than love BF.

My favourite quote so far:

Friend "CoD is amazing, the campaign is epic!"
Me "Have you played it?"
Friend "No"
Me " Are you going to?"
Friend "Maybe one day." *FACEPALM*

Not my thing, I'm glad that some critics are giving it respectible scores but taking into account that its similar. As for Jim Sterling, don't get me started. His opinion has about the same credibility as a brown paper bag to me.

In addition, I'm not bashing CoD. I think that what it does is executed well and I get the appeal (kind of) its just not for me. I'll pick it up in a years time when the next one inevitably comes out. Black Ops is worth a fiver now. A fiver. I got it at midnight launch last year, albeit for £25. Gotta love Tesco.

I am sad.
Well for multiplayer at least, It was exactly the same as MW2 but with different maps. They didn't even change the font, and Activision is still using the same boring old colour palette (I have not seen the colour purple once) and reused, mix-match level designs.

When will the give us Call of Duty: Rainbow Fairy Warfare?

...because I would so love to slaughter enemies that explode into plumes of multi-coloured glitter upon death

Not sure how to feel. While it's pretty much all spectacle, MW1 had an interesting campaign. I've seen IGN's review and they didn't say anything about campaign length. At first I was intrigued to see how the story ends but now I think I just better save the money for an iPod shuffle.

Well I played some of the spec ops and survivor and it is so much fun, Definately worth the money I put into it and the 4 hour wait inline!

I've only done multiplayer and will probably not do the campaign (Sonic Generations, Batman, Dark Souls, Skyrim, Assassins Creed 3, Zelda, Saints Row 3) I got more things to play for story ATM. Still I do prefer CoD MP to BF3 MP (playing both on PS3) just the easiness of picking up and playing without having to learn as much as I needed to learn for BF makes it all around fun

and im probably not going to get MW3 until it drops to 30$ or less.
Woa, that's not gonna happen anytime soon, but then again, seeing as Black Ops is still priced at 60$. I'll probably wait for a friend to get it like the brainless CoD zombie he is, and try it out at his place.
Eh, im fine with that then. I just wont get it at all.
Maybe put the money into a few indie games, maybe Shogun: Total war.

Im sure MW3 will be a good game, but its just not going to be my cup of tea. I enjoyed Blops more then MW2, and everyones saying, "Its MW2, but better."
No offence, but Shogun: Total War is far from an indie game.

OT: Getting it for Christmas (maybe)
I know its not indie, i phrased that wrong xD
I meant, "Or many Shogun: Total War."
Heh that's okay, I was just confused about what you meant :p.
