To think... two thousand years ago, hospital wards had snakes all over the place!

Yes, I'm educating myself about the Aesculapium on the Tiber Island. -_-

To think that, 20 years ago, people's messages to eachother were physically carried between their locations by a stranger.

To think, I hadn't eaten a curry 10 hours ago. But now I have... my, how things change!

OT: Its strange, to think hundreds of years ago it took ages to get across countries like England, now it only takes hours.

30 years ago a personal computer had 16 BITS of memory and used a tape recorder as a disk drive.

30 years before that the computer you are typing on right now would have taken an entire building to house and a crew of several dozen people to keep running.

It has been 67 years since the start of the atomic age with the dropping of the bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Our bombs make bigger explosions now.

Let's continue to not use them.

15 years ago or so, cell phones were just under the size of your palm and still had antennae. Around 10 years before that, they would extend from your mouth to the top of your head. Sometime before that, cell phones were just house phones designed to be carried in suitcases.

And I'm old enough to look at a place and say "That was a field once" or "That was a Blockbuster once". And I'm only 16.

250 years ago, the nearest city to my current home was probably hundreds of miles away in California.

6 Years ago, none of the bros were yoloing or wearing multicolored tank tops with tight shorts cut above the knee.

Now whenever I go near the University in my town, I feel like I've been zapped into some sort of twilight zone of 80s fasion.

I'm getting old.

25 years ago I was a fetus...also some of you people were enjoying Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, etc. Also 25 years ago, negations were likely beginning between Warner Bros and DC comics over a movie on some comic book or something: something to do with Bats.

Captain Terror: "It was exactly one year ago that Speed Racer and his Mach 5 defeated us. We swore that someday we would get our revenge. That time is almost at hand! We will race against Speed Racer again, and this time we will not only defeat him, we will destroy him!"

Hell, it used to take days to communicate with people from other towns and things like that too. Kind of crazy when you think of how fast we are advancing.

Nowadays if you don't respond to a message from the other side of the world in 20 seconds people start to panic.

Approximately 4.2 years ago, our nearest extra-solar star was emitting the light that we are only just now seeing.

Christ, that was before Obama was elected, wasn't it?

Wait... 60!?! Are you fucking serious!?

That's impossible to believe. Was he really 40 when his movie came out?

Same here, I used to go about on my bike on the dirt roads and construction sites-to-be near my house when I was a wee lad. Now they're just nice houses. To think, the backdrops to my memories are now buried under concrete, carpets and plaster.

Twenty five years ago, people had no internet, and video games were just getting into the swing of things. How far we've come in such a short time.

my aunt finished university 15 years ago. she was the weird one because she insisted on using computer for almost anything since computers "never be a proper tool to support learning". that was seriously written on one of her assignments she typed and printed instead of writing it by hand.

Spartan warriors used to lube each other up with oil before battle...you don't see that much in modern warfare.
