Hi - no, this is not a rant.

I just have one problem with Bronies - and no, it's not that you watch MLPFiM, because I do too. I happen to be a girl, but that's hardly the point either. My problem is this: you guys seem to (at least on these boards) make it all about you and your right to like what you like and being loud and proud and really... I think it should be about the show and if you like it, great and for people who don't, also great (who cares who likes what shows on television for crying out loud?! It is really sad that what people watch on TV has become some defining characteristic).

So that's my one problem with the Bronies thing - well, other than the fact that, as a group, you seem determined to overshadow small children and females as the show's primary fan base as some sort of imperialistic manner.

This will probably make me unpopular, but there it is. No lack of respect for y'all, just saying... you could just be you and let it stand at that.

That is why I don't shout from the rooftops about it. It is a good show with a good community, why make it into your identity?

I litearrly just got off a thread talking about how these threads turn people mad! The people that are obnoxously vocal about it are a minority like any other fan group.

As far as overshadowing goes, I think its good that the makers of the show are aware of there fan base so there is never a reason to cancel it. Im getting flashbacks of Sonic SatAM and Swat Katz just from that sentence.

Fanboys will always be fanboys. Bronies are no different, just be glad they aren't like the LoL community.

*Smashes head into desk upon seeing new MLP thread, looks up and with dying breath sees thread has a point* Alas, I acted too soon... *dead*

Seriously though, I always wondered how the show was doing in terms of little kids, do children watch the show? Or is it just the brony fan base that keeps the show aloft? Is there a statistic on the amount of viewers it has?

While I agree with the sentiment, we'll inevitably seeing soon people complaining about yet another pony thread, disregarding their ability to not click on anything with the words "pony", "brony", "friendship", or any acronym thereof in the title.

It can be annoying, but at the same time I understand it as a defense reflex. Being a brony attracts a lot of negative attention from people who haven't even seen the show, but judge it and its fans based on its target audience. In the end, annoying as this is, it's nothing more than a (sometimes extreme) reaction to unfounded hatred.

Gamers do the same thing when people attack video games. Sometimes it's a bit much, but in any case it really only happens like it does because of the sheer amount of intensely strong, ignorant hate directed at the community.

I agree with you but that is just a small minority of bronies and the other side isn't helping either. Here I am minding my own business wearing my brony shirt and I was verbally attacked being called a furry fucker.

Bronies will be less loud when people stop acting like ponies pissed on there breakfast. If we stop feeding each other, this won't be problem at all.

Now all I ask is can we actually talk about the show, I have never seen a show where the fans are talked about more than the show itself, it's ridiculous. XD

Post #9 on this thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.321834-A-less-brain-numbing-version-of-twilight] is why I'm really sick of bronies.

everything has a number of obnoxious fans. and (most of) what I see is people acting in defense, not shoving it on others.

Blog about it elsewhere?

Can we have threads that generate discussion and not more crap aimed towards bronies? That would be marvellous.

Because a portion of them act in a way and you are quick to generalize those actions to the entire community?

They don't like the book twilight and would rather hear about a differently named twilight? why is that so bad?

They tend to come in clusters, with the first thread inspiring others. And I'm not sure that you of all people can really criticize others for this...

I agree for the most part. Sure, MLP is a defining feature for me, but so are the games I play and the music I listen to; but not one of those *alone* can define me as a person.

This is pretty much my problem with them too. Nothing wrong with the show, I've seen it a few times and it's pretty good (though no Adventure time), It's just the obnoxiously loud fan base that gets on my nerves, who never shut up about it. Or the people who hate the show, who also never shut up about it. It'd be nice if it were like every other show; you know, where you watch it if you like it and discuss it a reasonable amount with friends, and if you don't, just move on and watch something else.

Let me sum up my feelings as quickly as possible:

Bronies: We're here! We're Bronies! Get used to it!
Me: I don't care, shut up! *Slams internet window shut*

Like what you like, just don't force it on me. I hate the ones bashing bronies as well for the same reason.
