My Xbox just died

It just red ringed last night. I'm not to broken up about it because it was a used one that I bought from Gamestop, but now I can't play my Xbox games.

Also I was trying to remember if it was just cheaper or easier to buy a new one or get the old one repaired, so if someone could tell me that would be nice.

One more thing, if anyone wants to buy me a new Xbox 360 just message me. :)

That sucks.
I've had my Xbox since it came out, but I've been able to fix it the 2 times it has red ringed.

The first one that I got died one day before the Gamestop warrenty went out so I could just go get another one, but this has lasted me at least a year I think.

Depends, if you still have a warranty for the 360, then go ahead and get it fixed, but since it's used, the warranty may be up on the system. So you can shelve $400+ to get it fixed from Microsoft or go to Gamestop and buy a new/used one. New being in the $300 price range while used would be around half that I'm guessing. Keep the hard drive though!

I had a first-gen Xbox. It got the RRoD then got fixed. Then later on it developed some weird reaction to the format ODST was on and started freezing. Now I have the limited-edition MW2 360.

I've had mine for about... 1-2 years?
Hasn't crashed.

Am I lucky, or is that common?

I would say get a new one. They're pretty cheap.
For some reason your avatar made me want to play that old DS game... Lux-Pain?
Yeah.

That game was awesome.
Never heard of Lux-Pain. Off to Google!

Same thing happened to me, I sent in my 360 twice and they replaced it once I bought it when it first came out. Just a few weeks ago I got RRoD'd so I bought a 360 Elite which is working fine...

Welcome to the club. We have an official badge and everything.

My advice: do what I did, and just get a PS3 instead.

why would he get a PS3 though, if he's only got xbox games?

someone told me to do that if my xbox died, and I promptly told them to fuck off. It'd be cheaper just to get a new one than to go get a PS3 and re-buy all the games I wanted. It's just not logical.

OT: Buy a new/used one. No point trying to get it repaired & DO NOT get a PS3. Nothing wrong with the PS3 but it's just stupid if you've already got plenty of games for xbox. Total waste of money.

Well I'm glad you didn't tell me to fuck off. That would've been rude.

Anyway, I traded in or sold my games and just moved on to the PS3. Glad to have done it, too.

Either buy a new one and keep the Hard Drive or swap it out if you're warranty is still good.

Which XBox 360 did you have by the way? Elite, etc...

If you have a lot of 360 games just get another 360. You'll probably spend more money on a ps3 buying new games.

It RRoD'd twice? Did they fix if for free the second time too, or just blame that one on you?

Also, love your avatar.
