Another redundant thread from DethFan666. Well, it looks like he got properly slapped on the wrist for it.
But, so as not to be a douche, I'll do more than say, "I warned em'" lest I justly share his fate.
I never owned a N64, but I did boot up an Emulator some time after they were out of style. It was a cute little console, really, back in the birth of when we could get excited when Super Mario went from 2D to 3D. By today's standards, however, it comes off as little more than a gimmick with only a few memorable games, many of which you can find better titles for more current consoles. For example:
- [li]Super Smash Brothers Brawl versus the original Super Smash Brothers[/li]
[li]Super Mario Galaxy versus Super Mario 64[/li]
[li]Original Paper Mario versus Thousand Year Door [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_Mario:_The_Thousand-Year_Door] or Super Paper Mario [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Paper_Mario].[/li]
[li]Most current day racers versus Mario kart.[/li]
[li]Any current day FPS versus Perfect Dark.[/li]
And so on.
The memorable ones are worth taxing nostalgia over, however.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are, in my opinion, the best of the series. Just the right mixture of kitschy Zelda-like flavor and action. The games that would follow on the GameCube involving big headed freak kid were artsy and neat, but they just didn't have the same appeal. Twilight Princess, on the other hand, was just overdone.
Perhaps one of the greatest experiences in gaming history was when I ended up fighting the great and mighty poo [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0w5neFPat1w] in Conker's Bad Fur Day.
So, here's to you Nintendo 64, we hardly knew ye.
