Kratos means Government, Power. I think that's already quite great. Plus, the games pronounce it wrong. The correct spelling sounds like Krah-tos- Keep in mind that in Greek the K sound isn't plosive, the R is pronounced by making your tongue vibrate against your palate once (the way Americans pronounce the "tt" in "gotta", and the T isn't plosive either. I think that this prononciation sounds far better.
Regardless of what it means, it has no basis as a name in any english-speaking countries (outside of the game, anyhow), and thus i can only imagine how tormented such a kid might be. Same for anyone named Dante, or Vergil, or Zadkiel, or even Soloman; these just aren't good and common names to give kids. Really, thinking about it makes me glad i got a good, common name.
Personally I like Dante as a name, just not in English-speaking culture. However, if the kid comes from a Romance language-speaking family, Dante is a ratehr good name, if a bit eccentric. Of course, I like the name Dante not for the cocky, loudmouthed demonslayer, but for Dante Alighieri, the writer.

I've always liked the name Jason, so this sounds like a fair deal. Sounds a hell of a lot better than people naming their kids after OTHER video game characters, at any rate. I'd hate to meet the poor kid who got named Kratos.
I bet some people named their kid Cloud, Dante, Guile, or Kain.

This contest is 25 years and 7 months too late.

And, I was always told Jason, as a name, meant "leader". If someone told me the truth, I could have had lower expectations for myself...

I've just read the terms and conditions, the competition closes on the 15th March.

Who the hell can have a baby in 1 month?

Also, if such people did exist, endowed with super sperm, a wonder womb and other godly powers, why would they name their kid Jason for a chance to win some Codemasters' games, instead of naming their kid Damien (or Awesome) and taking over the world?

I'd laugh if SCE followed suit with a God of War 3 promotion, name your kid Kratos and win a PS3 (it would still be a lot better than some of the Chav labels babies are given nowadays).

Hey, Kain is pretty badass.

Better than Raziel, at least.

I don't think I would do it for a good game, either.

Say what you will, but at least 'Jason' is a hell of a lot better than 'Turok'.

This is quite a bizarre contest.

I have no idea what the "Jason" situation is in the UK, but somehow I don't see this contest doing much to increase the number of people named Jason by a significant amount at all.

Not that they would expect to actually make a difference, anyhow. I'm also unsure how much this will help "Jason and the Argonauts".

chi-chi-chi... ha-ha-ha... (Keeping the kid away from the cutlery drawer would assume even greater priority, no?)

edited to add: I just realised, it's probably a real bad idea to give li'l Jason hockey lessons too.

Darn, I was hoping it was a good Jason Vorhees game.
Isn't that a oxymoron?
It's feasible. Just...

Think of the Versus match in L4D where you play as the "Tank".
It would need some stealth elements where you stalk people though and would probably be banned faster that Manhunt 2.

It depends, if you marketed it cleverly you could either use that bad PR to your advantage, or set it up unrealistically to avoid the realism.
