Naming your gaming rigs

My PC doesn't have any but I like to call my printer Ghost in the Shell because it often makes random noises even when I haven't used it for days.

My Xbox 360 Elite was named Samuel and my brother's was named Ving. Then mine bricked so I put an arcade in its spot with my original hard drive but I couldn't call it Samuel anymore so it was named Clint. My PC is named Missile Command.

My current Dell Studio laptop is called Crate. I think my old laptop was called something like Steve.

My family name all our SatNavs, since they actually have voices. We have Synthia and Danny. Gerard died because his rechargable batteries leaked inside him.

Yeah, I name all my machines. It means I have a cat's hope in hell of keeping track when they're networked together!

At the moment I've got:

Lady - work machine
Blackbird - gaming machine
Sputnik - laptop
Dame - old cranky laptop
Cavy - almost-dead netbook
Vulcan - entirely-dead ancient desktop

My boyfriend has a desktop called Sleipnir (which is his gaming machine) and a laptop called Celt.

My gaming rig is named the Phoenix. Mainly because I had a friend that didn't properly seat his AGP video card on it's motherboard correctly and the thing went up in smoke. After that I rebuilt it and the name stuck.

My fiance names all her computers and internet ready devices after famous computers.

Ever since I've been buying my own computer parts, whenever I get a new harddrive it is dubbed "Unicron."

I often switch the smaller sized harddrive to be a secondary, at which point I name it "Galvatron."

I don't name my system, but my hard drives are named Serenity, Satellite of Love and Galactica.

My current laptop: no name yet. It hasn't distingued itself yet.

My old laptop: Panda, like the car. It lasts a long time time, even if all non essential systems start breaking one by one from the first months you have it.

My N64: My precious, nuff said.

All my old gameboys have been award the name, lost ones. As the name implies, they're somewhere in a box. Worst case scenerio, my father threw them away with the rest of my stuff I left at his place. So many memories with that old original gameboy, I hope it finds it way back into my loving hands one day
