Why was the nazi at the end talking about valhalla form norse mythology?
The Nazis were really "into" Norse mythology. They thought of themselves as the descendants of the great Nordic people, and used Norse runes as symbols (the most well known being the sigel rune, used by the SS).

Anyway, I've been waiting for this movie since 2008, since they first announced it. The teasers and trailers and promo material were all nothing short of awesome. What I'm even more amazed is the fact that the movie is mostly funded by fans and looks absolutely great, judging by the latest trailer.

Other teasers are also great, especially the first one that explains how did they get to the Moon http://www.ironsky.net/site/#teaser (also, down there you have the option to demand the movie to be screened in your area).

All things considered, I can't wait!

Can't wait to see this. I can only imagine the meeting where they decided "This is what we want to make: Nazis. On the moon."

The Finish make some pretty strange and crazy films. Dead Snow for instance is a film essentially about Nazi Zombies. Rare Exports is about these guys who capture a santa-claus. This film seems like Finland's break into the international scene- it's telling by the amount of attention they focus on America. Which is...fine but it would be nicer if they wern't so America-centric, everything in cinema is. It's understandable, but i really like a bit of variety (it's why i like "foreign" films)

Regardless, wish the makers the best of luck with this film, i'll certainly be seeing it.
Dead Snow was Norwegian, not finnish. Just felt the needd to point that out. Very excited for the new movie.

Been following these guys since the Starwreck days, and I'm actually going to the Iron Sky tour in Finland to see the movie before the official release date.

I like how one can take anything and make it ridiculous by creating a moon version of it.

Oh those wacky Nazis...

Oh god please don't be another Sucker Punch, be as awesome as it looks.
don't know what you're talking about, me and all my friends absolutely loved Sucker Punch~ I guess the stylization of movies like it and Scott Pilgrim is just really polarizing to most people, so you either love it or hate it..
Now that's where you can be wrong, I loved Scott Pilgrim, it was a fun movie that had great action sequences and never got to serious about itself.

Sucker punch just seemed to be a series of someone's dreams. I get that it's her fantasy so they are never in any real danger , but that's not engaging. Though not to hard to figure out the freaking 3 sequences of reality and unreality got very annoying and kinda sucked. I would give it some point's for originality but the story was so see-through that it was hard to push out the feeling of mediocrity.

interesting, i guess I figured people who hated sucker punch generally were the same group that hated Scott Pilgrim. You did make some pretty good arguments there,

I find it hard to really relate the 2 movies. While both where very videogame-esc they where almost polar opposites in theme. Yes they had some great action scene's but one was a comedy about relationship's and self realization and the other was a dark movie about abuse, bad medicine, and dreams.

The only thing where the two relate if the importance of music in both. Both of the movies soundtrack's where good and played a huge part's in both movies.

The only reason I see Sucker Punch in this movie is due to the unworldy action scenes. What this movie is seeming to get right is that it won't take it's self very seriously, which will give it a lot more leeway

It's Iron Sky; It's satirical.

Like Starship Troopers or Dr. Strangelove.
Oh sweet jesus, you did not just compare to actual, great movies to this dreck? (Da fuq does this mean?)

Iron Sky wouldn't know satire even if they were hit over the head with a bucketful of it. It's juvenile, poorly composed humor (Sarah Palin, really? Still topical even remotely?) that runs on the goodwill of the inane children's culture that is amok on the internet, who will watch just about anything as long as you put something dumb as "Nazi's on the moon!" on the poster. It's the reason garbage like Transformers 3 ("Robots on the moon!") was a success.

But please, don't go comparing it to classic films like Dr. Strangelove or even modern satire masterpieces like Starship Troopers, that's just beyond comprehension.
Just because it isn't good doesn't mean it's not satire.
Satire is a genre, not a quality.

Iron Sky: it's like Starship Troopers or Dr. Strangelove.

Nice. Love the reference.

The trailer, on the other hand... bad. Sorry to be a downer, but I get the impression that they had a decent budges, but spent it all of CGI, which would explain why I don't recognize any of the actors, and pretty much everything that's not in space looks like crap. And the premise makes me want to laugh, cry, cut someone, and make stew out of my own brain, all at the same time (Nazis couldn't figure out the atomic bomb, but they can colonize the moon?).
Fail. You are trying to find a logic reason how nazis got to the moon? I do not think realism was the point of this movie.
Also, this is not a high budget Hollywood movie, so I would guess they can't afford "actors ppl regonice". Which is fine, makes a bigger chance for new actors to step up!

Hey if hellsing can get away with having Nazi vampires as main antagonists (Yes..the main villains are nazi vampires), i don't see why this can't work....It could actually be pretty fun in it's own way, kind of like what hellsing was. Although, it actually did the impossible of making 'nazi vampires' actually seem like a threat and not totally silly, so I'm interested to see what route this one decides to take.
