You know what, if they keep the writers of Seasons three and so on of Heroes away from this series, I'll give it a look. Besides, a cape as a weapon!? Awesome!

If Keith David is a regular on this, consider me even more on board. Plus Martin Klebba even. I have my doubts Vinnie Jones is in for the long run but seeing him help get this off is quite cool in my books.
I do like the Cape being more than just a cape. Though I will always remember Edna Mode's diatribe against capes.
Please show this on Hulu, NBC. Don't pull a CBS on this and just show little clips.

This has piqued my interest I'll give it a chance once it airs.

Although "The Cape" is still a dumb name for a hero.

Did Vinnie Jones just get beat up by a midget? Did Keith David just take some guy's soul and give him superpowers?

...That strangely sounds awesome.

With the cable companies restriction on anywhere outside the Americas, I doubt we'll get to see it. Unless, of course, we take the illegal route. Which maybe wrong, but when it's the only route...

Looking at the trailer, this will either be the next Heroes (Season 1) or the next Heroes (Season 3). As long as the sense of humour that is evident in the trailer is kept, I'll watch it.

It's great to see this kind of hero-with-a-magic-cape types. I love Marvel's Cloak (from Cloak and Dagger) and The Hood.

I expect one of the crappy british channels like Sci-Fi or something will pick this up (and most likely repeat the fuck out of it). Looks pretty good.

Great, another crappy American style super hero show. Ah well, only 5 or so months till Misfits season 2...

It's NBC, which is network, not cable. Britain will likely get it on BBC or one of the Sky channels.

Looks pretty good to me. Better than Heroes post season one anyway. I'll give it a look at least.

And here I thought to myself yesterday:
"Self" I thought "Isnt it time for a real superhero TVseries, and not just the I-don't-want-to-be-a-superhero stuff we have been getting?"
And self answered: "Hell yeah"

the biggest problem I see is that any heroes created that are not based on existing comic heroes tend to be corny. I have no idea why, but I think it is a bit in how the series get structured.

If you ask me this could actually turn out to be cool. The trailer built the series up to take itself seriously, and actually embrace what superhero movies has already started to do.

Now all we need is for Marvel to start making some TVseries too ;) I am thinking New X-men, Runaways or Young Avengers. Considering they have plots which can fit into a TV series universe, imo, without being to big (so that they might ever become a movie)

I doesn't look as horrible as I imagined. But what any good superhero runs on is his villains. And if all this guy has is some corrupt politicians and gangsters, it's going to get boring after the 2nd season.
I sort of agree with you, but do they really? I mean look at the Iron Man movies, they hardly have any villains. Most of the Iron Man movies is about tony Starks journey, and the villains play second string.

I would also like to add that they might be pulling a Batman Begins/The Dark Knight sort of thing. By that I mean that once the world has a masked hero, the villains will follow and become more eccentric themselves.
And it did look like they will have some masked villain too.
Time will show

Why do I get the feeling that 90% of the best action bits & lines were in that trailer!

I'm hopeful but don't really see how they can turn an alright, if not original, movie concept into an X amount of episodes show and keep it good each week.
