Almost positively likely to be lame. Whatever you do with the series, the original concept is too weak.

...still fun to see Vinnie Jones getting hit in the knee with a wrench by mini-me...

EDIT: Just remembered where I recognise the actor from. He was one of the weaker members of the cast of ER...

My fall television season forecast: explosiony with a chance of "meh."

Even after seeing Vinnie Jones, I remain disinterested. If NBC is watching - it's because of the pasted-on look of all the VFX. At least use a damn gaussian blur, and feather your masks! It takes less than a minute, and would keep The Cape from looking like Bibleman.

Man, trailers have become spoilers now...

You don't think it reveals too much? Its like Iron Man all over again...

-We know the backstory
-We know the setting
-We know the mentor
-We know the reason for the cape
-We know the sidekick

...

Take any comic book series, provide that information, and you've caught the person up to whats going on...

Haha good point. Though as an avid comic book fan (and Smallville fan, I'll be looking forward to this show. There's no way it will be able to fill Clark's shoes, but at least it looks decent.

Hmmm, I'm interested. Gonna have to look into that. It could be a decent series.

Keith David? Summer Glau? A show about an actual crime-fighting superhero that isn't Smallville? Sign me up.

Though I'm interested to see how this will compare to ABC's just announced superhero show "No Ordinary Family," where a family (lead by Micheal Chiklis) gets superpowers.

Looks fucking awful.

I can't even ignore just how much of it shows up as a Batman rip-off.

Great, another crappy American style super hero show. Ah well, only 5 or so months till Misfits season 2...
Ahh yes, can't wait.

His last name is Faraday? Who else do we know that wears a cape and has that last name?

Like, perhaps, a thief from some game somewhere?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Faraday (no cape, but a possible candidate for comic reader street cred)

It's much more likely an NBC writing monkey trying to be clever, though.

I wouldn't be surprised a bit if they explain the cape's special properties with "electrical induction capacitors" or some equally bullshit science.

I expect one of the crappy british channels like Sci-Fi or something will pick this up (and most likely repeat the fuck out of it). Looks pretty good.
LMAO, they do that with Doctor Who in America. haha

OT: I think it looks like crap, I don't expect it to last as long as Heroes did.

Shit, he's being trained by Spawn. If there is anyone who knows how to rock a powerful cape it's Spawn.

Or Goliath. He works too.

But in all seriousness, it is a ghetto Batman. With Summer Glau(hot!) and her "Blogging Expertise" that just means she's going to be Oracle......with a working pair of legs....
