So just finished Neon Genesis, which i really enjoyed. But looking to watch something new so hoping you guys would be so kind as to help me out. Haven't been into anime all that long, I've watched Code Geass, FMA and Elfen lied so far so maybe something along those lines, but if ye have something totally different wouldn't mind that at all either.
Cheers for any help in my quest against boredom.

You can always watch Gurren Lagann or FLCL.

Other fun animes are Yu Yu Hakusho, Paranoia Agent, Blood+, and Welcome to the NHK.

Edit: Actually, I'll just give you my entire list: Death Note, Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, Desert Punk, Rozen Maiden, Haruhi, .//Hack Sign, Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan, and Nanoha.

And movies: Paprika, Perfect Blue, Blood: The Last Vampire, Akira, End of Evangelion(Required watching if you haven't already seen it since you've watched NGE.)

Woo...

EditEdit: If you haven't already, look into Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. It starts out very similar to the original anime but then it strays, in a good way. Brotherhood follows the Manga much closer than the original anime and I'm loving it much more than the original. The only drawback is that it hasn't completed yet but there's about 50 episodes out now so you can get your fill of awesome from it.

Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann is pretty damn awesome if you're into mecha, it starts off as an over-the-top real robot anime, then progresses to make-your-head-asplode-it's-so-figgin-awesome super robot anime. Also, the protagainist is basically Shinji if he had proper copious amounts of emotional support, so that's pretty interesting if you were ever wondering what that would turn out like.

Gundam 00 is pretty decent too if you like Gundam, or you could also try Gundam Unicorn, I hear it's pretty good.

Last Exile is a great series.
I concur that you should try Gurren Lagann. It's campy, but oh so EPIC!

Ahh, good. That movie is terrific. I also suggest watching the Rebuild movies if you haven't already. The first one is out and the second one is coming out on DVD in May. They're a brilliant retelling of NGE so far.

The first Rebuild sticks fairly close to the anime but the second one really branches out. I've only seen the first so far and I loved it so I highly recommend it.

Aside from the re-casted Misato and Ritsuko, I'm really enjoying the Rebuild promos.
But are there any real substantial differences between 1.01 and 1.11, aside from the fixing of some lighting issues in 1.01?

You might be into Samurai Champloo or Death Note, OP. Sounds like you're an action fan.

Gurren Lagann is a must if you haven't seen it!

Blood+ is one I though I'd hate, but ended up loving.

IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN COWBOY BEEBOP, SMACK YOURSELF AND GO WATCH IT!! NOW!!!

Um... I liked Black Cat, Bleach and Naruto used to be good... Fullmetal Alchemist and it's vastly superior remake Brotherhood, Death Note... I guess... Jing King of Bandits is quirky.... DragonDrive... is weird...

That's all I can think of.

Not that I'm aware of. I've only seen 1.01 and saw nothing wrong with it. I also didn't notice them recasting Misato or Ritsuko. Either they did a really good job or I just forgot the sounds of their voice. Come May when I watch everything back to back I'll see if I can't spot a difference.

Darker than Black, Pandora Hearts, Higurashi no Nako koro ni (When they cry).

Those are the ones that popped out of my head that are similer to the animes you watched. Although I could give you some more.

I Take that back - only Ritsuko was replaced.
Misato just seems to be talking in a much more subdued pitch.

I'm actually quite interested to see how they pull off the design/characterization of that new pilot.

Yay you recommended Paprika and Perfect Blue!

From the anime you've already watched, obviously FMA brotherhood, but I would also recommend the Naku koro ni series (Higurashi no Naku koro ni, then Higurashi no naku koro ni kai, and finally Umineko no naku koro ni) and of course Darker than Black (it isn't as serious as the others, but it definately isn't comedy) and Claymore.

For less action-based anime, the best would be Lucky star. I won't mention anything about Evangelion since I'm sure other people are better qualified to explain the sequels and things.

I am a fan of the action but also love a damn good story and to have my brain melted be the time i've finished with it.

To try something different(good different), I'd go for Mushishi, it's about another form of life that came before animals plants and bacteria.

Something clever and very popular, Death Note, note for everyone but very clever in a psychological way.

I see you've seen FMA but have you seen FMA:brotherhood it's the same story told more from the mangas point of view. In my opinion better.

I've tried to avoid the big 3 (Naruto, Bleach, One piece) but if you haven't seen them you should at least check them out.

You would probably like the Gundam series although i haven't really got round to it it seems to be right up your alley.

And if you like a detective story try Detective Conan.
