Has anyone encountered this?

I saw it when I was paying attention to the television set in the barber shop, and it was tuned to HLN(a cable news channel) doing a report on the Mel Gibson call where he told his wife/girlfriend(dunno which) to basically fuck off.

Now, I can understand them censoring the words fuck and ******... But why censor the word boobs?!

What do they have against the word boobs? They bleeped Mel out when he said it.

Well, being in Australia I would have to say the over censorization of L4D2. That was truly ridiculous.

Yeah, there's a lot of censored t.v. on in the daytime. Makes me kinda upset. All those bleep noises get on my nerves.

Haha, boobs...jesus, that's like the one most acceptable word for tits we have. But I can top it.

The Kanye West song, Homecoming. In the song he is essentially rapping about his home town as if it were a woman he loves. One part of the lyrics goes: 'My name is Windy and I like to blow trees' Windy of course referring to Chicago, 'the Windy City'. They silence that line when the song is played on TV. Why the fuck?

Oh also, the 30 Seconds to Mars song 'From Yesterday'. One of the lines being 'On a mountain he sits, not of gold, but of sin.' They always censor the word 'sin'. Just why...

They over censored Conker Live and Reloaded, the remake of Conker's Bad Fur Day, to the point it ruined a few of the jokes in the game.

They censored out around 32 seconds of a disturbed song when it aired on the radio near me, down with the sickness. (you know which part i mean). wouldnt exactly call that unessarcy but if your going to play a band called Disturbed you better be ready to face the music (HA! pun intented.)

I know exactly what you're on about. So what happened? Was it like where the song is playing until it gets to that part, and then silence for 32 seconds. Then it continues like normal?

They just played the instruments, it was okay but that was the 1st version i heard so when i heard the uncensored version i was understandably scared. And in essence that is the problem with censors, they cant hide the problem forever, the thought and exstience of it is still there and when you find out about it you get annoyed that they censored it.

I find it funny how you can say "ass" and "hole" on TV, but not "asshole."
It gets amusing when they censor the "hole" but let them say "ass".
Yeah. I always think "Did he/she just call that other person an Assfuck?"

I forget which record company did it but they removed the complete audio from a guy's new years video on youtube because about thirty seconds in one oif his friends said two lines from a soldier boy song while mocking his dance. This video's length was 9:32. His hard drive got hit by a massive virus and had to be wiped. The only footage from this event got ruined by those assholes.

This was absolutely perplexing to me.

Am I the only one that finds it terrifyingly Orwellian that they're not allowed to say "war" or "nuclear war"?

Yeah, I know what you mean. It just seems so fake and bad when they censor things. It just feels like there's something missing, and that takes away from the enjoyment.
