IMO, the only time you are too old for something is if you personally can't get excited over it anymore. That's it. If you still enjoy it, there is no shame in doing it, no matter the age.

I was unaware there was a max. age limit for toys, I mean I can understand a min. age limit, but a max. one? And esp. Nerf Toys considering in all their commercials they don't have young kids running around playing with the things, they always have guys that look like they're at LEAST 17+.

The Nurf Gun Revolver was an awesome Nurf Gun. I used to ambush my little brother when he can back from school, and I was 22. Growing old doesn't mean you can't have fun, it means you can do all the things you wanted to do as a kid. Now to get enough Nurf Guns and get some people for a skirmish.

Probally not something you'd want to do in grade school with all the shootings and suicides, but in college it was loads of fun. (no pun intended)

I was gonna say, the OP must not live in a college town. Where I live, twenty somethings walk the Nerf aisle all the time. Then again, my university has a very active HvZ community, and the school actually allows Nerf to be used in the game (although housing keeps trying to get it banned for no apparent reason.)

I wouldn't know I went to a very geeky college where they played video game music in the halls and the instructors would get in nerf battles when they weren't playing WoW in their spare time.

Meh, Nerf guns seem to be annoyingly limited by ammo capacity.

Although, we did both draw a line and say that I won't use anything gas powered and he won't try to kill me with an air rifle....

Yeah, most people seem to think that once your over the maximum age of whatever your buying you shouldn't be able to enjoy it, EVER. Older than 13? NO LEGO FOR YOU!

Fuck age limits! I played with legos regularly until I was 19, and still mess around around with them from time to time. And I'm almost 23.

Don't listen to the people here. You are talking to Gamers, many of which watch a show about talking ponies learning lessons about friendship or whatever.

In other words, you are asking the wrong people.

It's because it's immature, it's really that simple. Is something inherently wrong about you playing with Nerf Guns? No. Is it immature? Yes. That is the answer to your question and I'm pretty sure you know full well that is the case. It's because when you are a adult or close to being one, people expect you to be less giddy about the idea of shooting foam darts around. Kind of like how everyone eventually expected you to get rid of your Power Ranger PJs.

Even simpler: Because you are acting like a child when you shouldn't.

Now, before someone takes this the wrong way. I personally don't care what you do, but if you really need someone to shove what should be obvious into your face, well I can't just let you stay ignorant, now can I? If you don't want such a socially awkward situation (which is because YOU are being awkward) then order online, problem solved.

No. Just no. I disagree with you almost entirely.
YES people would say that enjoying toys IS immature.... but you know what? The kind of person who would give someone a judging look like that is also immature.
Becoming an adult isn't always about throwing away things that still interest you because they are "immature" deciding you are no longer going to become excited about something is in itself a sign of immaturity, a thing that happens during the latter stages of adolescence when the desire to be grown up already is paramount.

For example
I enjoy Thomas the Tank engine, or at least the pre-Hitt Entertainment episodes. Thomas is aimed at 4 year olds, yet as a grown adult who is a train buff I have learned to look at the children's stories in a new light. I don't see it in the same way as when I was 3 but I still enjoy it (Although secretly. I don't go telling folks I love it!)

Once you grow up and mature you learn to realise that being grown up doesn't mean you have to be your parents. Yes you MIGHT grow out of certain things, I for one don't like playing pretend as much as I used to for example, but that doesn't mean you should stop doing something because you are embarrassed by still liking it.
