I actually can't blame them -that- much for pushing Batman characters since a number of them feature outside of Gotham. Riddler, Joker, Harley Quinn, Nightwing (not Night Wing), Barbara Gordon (Batgirl/Oracle), Poison Ivy, and Catwoman have all been prominently featured in non-Batman material. I'm not saying I don't want YJ -- I'd love that (although I would rather all of them be included -- unrealistic but still if we're talking complete hypotheticals).
While what you're saying is true, they are still Batman spawned. They come from the house that the Bat built, all thought up to give more depth to the Batman. While they are going to have lives of their own, they still have that indelible link.

I mean, we already got most of the bigs up there. This is DC's chance to actually help their franchises that aren't that big. We have the draw, being able to slug it out as Superman. And we already know he sells... Ok, so who doesn't but has the oppurninity to be big? Swamp Thing wouldn't be my choice, but the mythos that has spawned with him (The Elemental Forces like the Green he is connected to) is pretty fascinating. Bring in Big Barda or Brainiac (if Brainiac isn't a DLC, these people are idiots) Hell, this is a chance to get really creative with the whole Trait Mechanic.

Say Fire and Ice. As a single player. Their whole trait is that you beam on of them in at a time from the Watchtower, and it take some time to recharge the zeta beam. So if you knock one out, it makes sense why the other doesn't just come in. no one to activate the transfer. Completely different move sets. It would be interesting.

Or hell, get the Only Orange Lantern in here. Larfleeze is the the only Lantern of Avarice, right? And he has the ability to take energy of other lanterns and create dupes of those who he defeats? Great. Combine those. His trait is that if you hit him with YOUR trait, he builds an energy stack for a stronger super.

The trait will have him glowing for like say 3 seconds. If you hit him while glowing orange with your trait, or he hits those characters that have a non-hitting trait move (like Nightwing's and Wonder Woman's character stances at least two seconds after the switch, or if Harley takes out her bag of tricks and recharges her life with again that two second window) with a special overhead that is only active when Larfleeze has his trait up, he'll build a stack.

To show how much of a window he has to hit the stance switches or the recharges, maybe a 'MINE, MINE' will appear over the near the enemy's trait. It'll glow orange for the first second, go white for the second, just be one 'MINE' for the last second and then eventually go away.

Of course there has to be limits. Maybe he's one of the slowest recharges or he has to do a special move or a throw to start the recharge process of his trait

His Super will be he sics Five Orange Lantern Constructs on you for like 30% damage. For each stack he has (up to three), he adds 1 more lantern and one more second to the beat down. each stack will add 10% damage. That alone would add so many mind games alone. Can you keep Larfleeze away long enough that you can get some use out of your trait? Do you risk going in with Supes and use the extra damage?

They have a good start so far. They have a game that feels like it sort of belongs in the DC universe. Now with DLCS, I want to see them get creative with what they have. There are so many resources at their finger tips with the vastness of the DC universe. These aren't the best ideas for characters and traits, but it's enough to get people talking.

... I just realized that looks like I was pouring that all on you, Parakeet. I wasn't. I just thought up those ideas while typing and got excited.

What about Darkseid? He's got to be wondering why all these people are flying into his kingdom all battered and bloodied.

I'd like to see Power Girl... just to cause rampant debates about sexism and such. The more important reason is because I'm not too savvy on DC characters.
Yes, something about her always does seem to provide a window into gender conversations (see what I did there?).

Personally, I'd like to see some Etrigan or perhaps some Animal Man. I'm not a tremendous DC aficionado, but the Demon Knights and Animal Man New 52 books have both been pretty excellent.
Well, Power Girl's outfit is justified. She's nigh invulnerable, so it doesn't matter how much skin is showing. At least this way, it serves as a distraction while still being 'decent'.

I would say "Static or Zatanna," but personally I feel the game is so dour and downbeat that including characters who are usually very positive would probably belittle them.

The character is called STATIC...not STATIC SHOCK. FUCK.

Anyway, out of those I would choose Doctor Fate, he would be my second choice over all after MMH.

Aside from Swamp Thing, I actually know most of the characters you mentioned, and wouldn't mind either Larfleeze or Brainiac being added as well (tbh, this is the sort of universe where you could make an expansion pack full of just more fighters, and have it sell fantastically). It's fine, I'm totally cool with talking about game design/game ideas -- I'm a writer and game designer by trade. This sort of stuff is what I'll go on and on about, although I'm not the best at fighting game design.

Static. Absolutely Static. They could make a character who has ABSOLUTELY ZERO PHYSICAL ATTACKS. At least, from his fists and feet. That's something really unique, and he could have some very interesting interactions with the environment. He could wind up as one of the most unique characters in the game.

I wonder if there is a point to me voting on the poll, considering I lack the game and are still debating on whether or not to get the game. From what I've heard it apparently plays like Street Fighter.
No it doesn't. It plays like Mortal Kombat, which makes sense since Netherrealm is the developer of the MK series. Do yourself a favor, get Injustice. Its a great game and you'll enjoy it even if you don't like fighters.

Also, if I did get the game it would be for the console I own, the WiiU
Eww.....I can only really speak for the PS3 and Xbox versions of the game, as I don't know if there are any significant changes to the WiiU version.

On Topic: I voted for Blue Beetle, since I can see him meshing with the fighting style. Same with Shock, but since we already have a lightning based fighter, (2 in fact) I have my reservations about including him.

It's really sad people don't remember Swamp Thing, but his inclusion would be very interesting... I can only imagine his moveset would be similar to Glacius from Killer Instinct.

You don't remember him either do you... getoffamylawn!

First things first, thank you for answering my question, I appreciate it. I knew it was developed by the folks behind Mortal Kombat but I had seen from browsing some articles them mentioning how they wanted to try something different and there was talk of Street Fighter... I guess I misunderstood a few things in my quick reads. Anyway it is great to hear that it is not like Street Fighter, and while I have not played a Mortal Kombat game before it has intrigued and this will be a great way to see if I like this particular style of fighter gameplay.

Further looking up information on its WiiU release and things appear to be the same for it. On a truly good note it turns out that the Pro Controller is not required for a second player as the Wii's Classic Controller can also be used for the game. Now I just have to decide whether to get this game or purchase Lego City... argh, if this game had Martian Manhunter in it already I wouldn't even need to debate on which game to get.

On Topic: From this forum it seems like the two most popular choices are Power Girl and Static. As I'm not a fan of Power Girl and Static appears to have a higher chance of reaching the number one spot than Blue Beetle or Zatana, I think I will vote for Static.

I want to see Zatanna and Power Girl mostly because female comic book heroes don't get enough coverage (oh hohoholol) No but really it would be cool. Also who doesn't like magic powers?

Also their outfit's don't really bother me that much, it's more how some artists pose them (cough Greg Land, cough) Injustice seems to have a good track record of that so far at least. Hawkgirl concept art nonwithstanding.

That's the season pass DLC, yes. Already they've released skin packs and it was already heavily suggested that there would be more DLC, so this is pretty unsurprising.

The concept of a "season pass" is really being stretched here, but I doubt anyone's really surprised at that.

Alright, just Character wise, I thought that those 4 where the only ones and any other DLC would be Skin Packs and gamemodes.

Voted Blue Beetle. His abilities and moveset might be too similar to others, since he's a technological shapeshifter, but I think his design would go very well with the armor stuff Netherrealm loves to make. I don't think Power Girl or Zatanna would look particularly good in their style.

Barbara Gordon and Jaime Reyes. There. With Joker and Deathstroke already in the game, we now have the four best DC characters, and no further discussion is needed.
