Welcome to the Escapist!! Sorry, had to. Anyways, is there anything fun to do outside of seattle itself? Like Redmond and the like?SGrahambo said:Avoid the highways between ~4:30 and ~6pm if possible. And all the museums in Seattle have free admission on the first [tues or thurs, can't remember which] of each month; so save your money for one of those days. The Pacific Science Center Imax is well worth it for most movies. Be sure to visit some improv theaters from time to time (I can suggest some good ones, my favorite being Bloodsquad [http://www.bloodsquadpresents.com/index.html]). all the other famous Seattle locations are worth visiting at least once; At least I haven't found any of them "Over-rated".
Um... if you list some of your interests I can probably list things you may find fun to do.
Redmond? yeah, punch the guy that sold me a defective scuba tank in the balls that lives there. Not so familiar with Redmond itself. I'm closer to Everett and I only go through Redmond while traveling east to some pretty awesome hiking trails. Redmond isn't that far from Seattle anyways, only about 15 mins. If you are an outdoorsy type, there is plenty of hikes just to the east in the mountains. Not sure what other fun stuff to do you are interested in.dementedartist22 said:Welcome to the Escapist!! I love the weather here. Everything is so green! Most small business restaurants have great food. And you will never be in lack of a Starbucks. You WILL see a Starbucks nextdoor to a Starbucks here... nextdoor to another starbucks... With perhaps another starbucks hiding inside the grocery store next door.careful said:good rainy weather, good food, good coffee
I can tell you that although the amount of rain we get is a little overexerted, it does rain a shitton. I would say depending on what time of the year you were here you may have not been here when it wasn't too rainy.Avaholic03 said:The "rainy" aspect of that area is exaggerated IMO. I've spent a few months there off and on over 3 years, and it hardly ever rained. It was usually just overcast with occasional drizzle. Just don't hold out hope for seeing the sun. There's a reason why they have UV bars where you can sit under sun lamps...without that sun exposure, depression is much more common (among other issues).
