With the succes Ubisoft has had with their Assassin's Creed series, it's no wonder they are turning up the pace in bringing us consumers another game. Promising a new installation of the game in the 2010-11 line-up, Ubisoft has really turned up the volume.
In an interview with Gamasutra, Ubisoft are saying that the next game in the series will be the first to feature online multiplayer. Furthermore it was confirmed that this will be a full game and not just another load of DLC.
A representative from Ubisoft also told CVG that the new game will "take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin's Creed 2." Which will probably mean that the next game in the series possibly won't be AC III, since that is 'said' to take place during World War II and may feature a female Assassin.
The new Assassin's Creed will appear sometime in the next fiscal year, Ubisoft writes, which could mean a Spring 2011 release. With the franchise now seen as a 'sure thing' though, don't be surprised if it's out by the end of the year.
