I was under the impression Future Desmond was going to be the focus of the next game. I'm glad Ezio is going to be in the next game, as Altiar wasn't really my cup of tea and Desmond just seems... bland to me.
How can it be in the future? He sits in a machine that shows the memories of his ancestors, so how can it show memories of things that haven't happened?

Desmond isn't really a character to me, atleast in the last two games, he's more of a small extension to the rest of the story that happens inside the animus.

Just what I dreaded.
*sigh*
please don't screw up here, Ubisoft. I love you and everything you do, but this just sounds too bold and unsuccessful.

I bet it's going to be a largely multiplayer game. AC 2 was Altair's single player story. We don't need another one. I'm guessing it will be a short story like Bloodlines was for Altair. Hopefully it will be better; I didn't get Bloodlines, but the reviews were bad.
I got it on Day 1 (I have the game on the PS3, you see). I actually like it. It's basically a stripped down version of the first game. My complaints are towards the camera and difficulty curve of the game. That and Altair's voice actor's radically different.
Umm, Altair was only in the second one for about 5 minutes.

The difficulty wasn't an issue for me, I died mostly from aiming at a ledge at 45 degrees to me and getting Ezio to jump at it and him jumping either straight ahead or on a 90 degree angle to the straight ahead to plummet to his death.

No! Multiplayer is a terrible idea! There is no way it can work with an Assassins Creed game.

And double kick to the nads, I want to play as Desmond, damnit!

You know that they've just opened up room for people to buttfuck the reatards that fail to survive "leaps of faith".

Actually, online competitive multiplayer *could* be done in a similar style to the little known game The Ship, I suppose.

But whatever Ubisoft want to make money with is their choice.

You realize how awkward it'd be to have Desmond become a girl, right?

Like...

Weird, you know?

When I beat assassins creed 2 I was dissapointed, because of how short it was and what a cliffhanger it was. The first one was long and maybe not as wide a variaty of stuff in it but it was still fun. Assassins creed 2 was lemonade with to much lemons in it so ubisoft watered it down with the cold water of pointless side quests. In the the end, you finally play as the main character Desmond (suprise he is the main character) and if ezio is the second main character again in the third game again, the siries could get boring, but I will still love and support assassins creed.

I somehow don't buy the WWII idea - remember how long they misled us about ACII taking place during the french revolution?

As ever though, I'm curious how they're going to integrate gunplay mechanics into the Assassin's Creed universe - they can't stall on that forever.

When I say Future Desmond, I just mean Desmond. Sorry.
And the way Screed 2 ended for me, it just seemed a little like "Oh, Ezio doesn't matter, cuz it's all about the Desmond." I dunno, that's my opinion

I know alot of people think how the hell could multiplayer work but I've imagined a game mode called VIP to be pretty cool.

In other words:
1 player or VIP and maybe 8+ players playing soldiers who must defend the VIP from other Assassins that consit of maybe 4-5 players or something.
Bit like GTA IV's multiplayer mode.

Just a thought though.
Considering Assassin's Creed II's open world is radically different from that of GTA IV, how will they manage the maps and in-game geometry? They really need to scale it down big time, let alone have enough for multiple players.
Like GTA just lock off certain areas of the map, such as half a a city or maybe a whole city perhaps.
I don't think size is a big deal in all honesty.
