New Grand Theft Auto: V Screens Really Get Around

Rockstar shows off its handlebars, plates, and missiles.

Rockstar has released three shiny screenshots from the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V, showcasing three different vehicles and a fresh look at the game's improved graphics. The set was released directly on the developer's site, under a somewhat less than robust description: simply the word "Transport."

On display is what seems to be a military-grade fighter jet, the return of series staple The Cheetah and, of course, a man's rear end. Aside from the vehicles themselves, there's not much else to glean from the images, save perhaps the sports car casually sporting a San Andreas license plate.

Rockstar has promised "more to come this week," but whether that refers to more vehicle highlights or something completely different is up for debate. Still no word on an official release date for the game itself.

Car with a San Andreas plate. Clearly this means we will be able to travel to San Andreas, Vice City and a third, yet unnamed place, also we will be able to use jetpacks.

Seriously though, this looks sweet. Can't wait to play it.

The man's rear end looks like the best ride.

Thank you, I'll be here all week.

Looks nice, just waiting for Rockstar to hit us with a release date. Was hoping it would be out by the end of the year, but it's kinda safe to assume that won't happen.

Oh, is that Santa Maria beach? Wow, now I'm pumped. Come on, Rockstar. Just announce the release date already.

That Cheetah looks nuts. Doesn't really look like a GTA car to me. Doesn't seem to resemble any real car, let alone any Ferrari like they usually do.

Needs more jetpacks and harriers.
San Andreas was so much fun <3

Glad to see planes coming back though. I hope the world is big enough to make using them fun.

Tiny correction in the article, the car is a Cheetah. It's just the H is obscured by the glare.

Still stoked for this one, let's hope it's a better port this time around. EFLC seemed to suggest that Rockstar learnt their lesson from the mess that was the GTA IV port.

With GTA 4's handling, I'm expecting V's city roads to all be made out of ice and the street cleaners spread a super slippery lubricant on them every night.

I always love the pre-release speculations.
Whether it's trying to figure out what the butterflies mean in Skyrim, trying to figure out more about the FNV dlc from what copyrights Bethy took out, to just trying to come up with more information from pictures.

If the game has a better system for aiming while driving, preferably something similar to that of Red Dead, I'll buy it. If not, there are always other games. The alternative to a new aiming system would be for Rockstar to just stop creating missions in which I have to shoot out another car's tires (the hitbox for which is about three-by-nine pixels) while driving at high speed through traffic. It's just one of those things that makes me want to throw rotten fruit at game designers.

I loved the speculation for GTA IV, people didnt even know how the game played since there wasnt any actual gameplay videos before launch, people knew how it was going to look but they didnt knew how it was going to behave.

I'll be looking for people to tell me this was a LOT more fun than 4. This looks very pretty. But I want fun, and am hooked by Saints Row 3 which is just stupid fun, but not nearly as pretty as this. Give me the looks + the fun and we're talking.

Have you heard, do they want 5 to be ultra realistic (call your grocer missions)?
