Also, the type of people found on "Jersey Shore" is unfortunately an accurate depiction of many here.
Ya, but same here. In fact, considering other than them you'll have large amounts of emos, hicks, or gangbangers, Jersey Shore morons don't seem like too horrible of a group.

I've been living In NJ for 8 months now, a lot of teh above points are valid but there are also a lot of things going for it.

I live in Hoboken, its a square mile in size but has over 75 bard (highest bar density in the continental US)

Its called the Garden State for a reason as once you move away from the Coast and Dock areas there are some really quite beautiful areas

The Shore is Full of Greasy Italian-American Beefcakes who think that the best way to dance is to pump their fist in the air, but the Boss came from her (the real one not big boss) and Asbury park has hosted some of the greatest Rock Acts in History

All in all I quite like NJ. I get to see the new york skyline without having to deal witrh New Yorkers and I have made a lot of Friends here

I hate New Jersey because the place is filthy, absolutely filthy and i mean that in more than one way. Corruption, crime, and to anyone who has drived to NYC through NJ you see the factories, ohhh the factories...makes me wanna vomit.

I now live in North Carolina...nothing to complain about. Cops suck though. Speeding is like murder here, they jump on you the minute you go 10 over.

"Fist pump like a champ, all day long" I hate guidos, they give NJ a really bad name. Personally i think they look like idiots wearing tight tanktops on the beach.

Whats scarier is that most of them actually Live in NY or on Staten Island but because they cant bring themselves to go on holiday anywhere where they cant see their house from they end up being considered part of NJ.

It's not all the locals fault

As someone who lives in Jersey, I'll take a crack at this
No kiddo, you live in NEW Jersey. Google Maps wouldn't give me a proper distance, but to give you an idea:

Jersey's on the right, New Jersey is on the left.

I was waiting for this. Yes I am aware of the Isle of Jersey, but its common here in America to refer to my state without the "New" in it (this is out pathetic attempt at humor). We actually take some pride as being the only state that can do that.Try refering to New York that way.

I apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.

I live in New Jersey and I would like to say that south jersey is nothing like north jersey. I live in southampton which isnt that big and has a lot of farms and chatsworth is completly empty. Everyone associates New Jersey with north jersey (i say we should separate). Although we do still have the highest property taxes in the nation, but cheap gas at least.

it depends on whether you are talking about north or south jersey. north jersey is actually pretty nice and i enjoy visiting there. south jersey on the other hand is what gives the entire state a bad name.
