That's pretty much any rogue-like released ever. Minus the saving at all.gim73 said:Hey, let's have an rpg where all the levels, loot and enemies are random. Maybe we can make it so you have to start out at level one every time you go into this dungeon too... that would be such a cool idea! You don't even need any storyline. Who plays an rpg for story, they must really like the eternal grind. Oh, and the dungeon is 100 levels deep and there are no save points except in town.
That's already been done in a few freeware-games.Fox KITSUNE said:A FPS in one of these...

Can you say... Grenade Spam, Ambush, Claymore, Noob Tube, Camping ClusterF***?
I thought it may have been done before on some scale but I was thinking of a Modern Warfare 2 or a Gears of War spin to it.Xvito said:That's already been done in a few freeware-games.Fox KITSUNE said:A FPS in one of these...

Also, I'd like to see a multi-player-shooter set in space, on levels like those in Super Mario Galaxy but larger.
Oh, okay.Fox KITSUNE said:I thought it may have been done before on some scale but I was thinking of a Modern Warfare 2 or a Gears of War spin to it.Xvito said:That's already been done in a few freeware-games.Fox KITSUNE said:A FPS in one of these...

I think I may know what game you are talking about.gim73 said:Hey, let's have an rpg where all the levels, loot and enemies are random. I don't know man. A couple of kids in my sophomore year were expelled because they were "plotting" to do a Virginia Tech/Columbine/what have you on my school based on some kid's fucking hear-say. Apparently, when I asked what really happened, they were basically talking about what we're doing right now along with guns they prefer, and some fucking idiot thought they were going to bomb our chapel...Trivun said:Heh, I don't worry about the whole 'Virginia Tech Massacre' thing when I think about my campus and potential firefights. For example, I've identified no fewer than five different points to attack the main plaza below the Roger Stevens Building on my campus (massive lecture theatre-filled building), and worked out a series of tactics to successfully lead a squad from there up towards the student union. It actually lends itself surprisingly well to guerilla combat in a similar style to the university levels in the later parts of Gears of War 1...azncutthroat said:Holy shit, you know what, I've actually thought about that a lot!! Like, "Damn, that restaurant would make a great spot for a machine gun to cover the area," or "This main road could be made a into a chokepoint." I would think about my school but people will just que the "Virginia-Tech KILLER-IN-THE-MAKING!!"Trivun said:A level in any FPS based on real life locations in the world, to the point where the developers are doing what they did in Alone in the Dark and doing a ton of research on the area before designing the level (in AitD, the developers did that for Central Park). It'd be especially interesting to have a level of Halo 3 based on my university, where perhaps you get dropped in Millenium Square and have to fight your way through to Hyde Park (see any map of Leeds, UK, to understand what I mean).
I was actually thinking about a couple of them. Not all of them have the 'restart from level 1' idea every time you go in, but enough do that you hate the genre. It's one thing to have an optional dungeon that is large and randomly generated (sphere 211 from star ocean 3 comes to mind, as well as item world from disgaea). That is alright if you have a well established world and storyline to back it up. Instead what we get is a very weak storyline at the beginning that points towards an eventual goal at the end, and you climbing up and down stairs fighting monsters with nothing really happening except for gameplay (which usually is another weak point).rhyno435 said:I think I may know what game you are talking about.gim73 said:Hey, let's have an rpg where all the levels, loot and enemies are random. Mind you, it's not my game, it's my friend's game.

technically if you were being a true horseman you'd just be killing people, not angels and demons...StarStruckStrumpets said:I'd like a level in Darksiders where you act like a true horseman and slice through hordes and hordes of demons/angels. Now that would be badass. Like, you ride into a wall of fire, and on the other side is an army of them.
