Hybrid Theory and Meteora were great albums. Minutes to Midnight sucked, and I liked New Divide. This, however, no.

ive got to say, while i like their older stuff a lot more. MtM was average, since they lost a lot of what made them unique, and sounded like a plain old rock band. With The Catalyst, i liked it, wasnt amazing but it sounded different. But i have to say if it sounds like this for the rest of the album, then I wont buy the album. Because i know ill get sick of hearing that kind of music style the whole time.

Bit of an attitude problem there, Miss?

Might want to nip the old sarcastic nasty posts in the bud or you won't last very long here.
The Escapist: The last bastion of intelligence on the internet!
Indeed, there are a few of us who do try to at least be civil to eachother :)
I think you misunderstand. There is nothing intellgent about civility, nor being incredibly patronising to anyone who shows an ounce of personality. It makes for a contradictory place that is pretty unpleasant to be a part of.

I'd rather be told what someone means rather than be spoken down to by someone who hides behind a veil of words, something this place mistakes as intelect.

My opinions:
New single sucks
Minutes to Midnight was a good CD, I just didn't like it
Wish LP would go back to the old stuff...
I sort of like the techno/electronic vibe LP is going for and I think they could be able to pull it off
1) That is not the Entire song. It can be found on their myspace.
2) Minutes to Midnight did not have Shinoda he was off doing his own stuff.
3) Shinoda is back for this CD
4) Good bands do what their fans want.
5) GREAT bands do what they want while staying true to themselves.
6) The Catalyst sounds like a good mix of Meteora and Minutes to Midnight.

BIG DEAL they changed their sound do you want them to be like Metallica and sound the same on every CD they release.

I loved hybrid theory and meteora, and mtm has grown on me considerably, however this style of music doesn't really suit linkin park, I think they should just go back to the band we all fell in love with.

Likin park is reserved for 12 year olds who make narato AMV's, do "extreme" rollerblading\scootering, and who consider the high point of their lives to be that one time their uncle let them take a drag off of a cigar that one time at the family reunion.
Thats a pretty....dim accusation....Okay anyways Linkin Park was good be for Minutes to Midnight. But they had to great albums. Then they died. Which is suitable considering they tried to blend rock and rap which they just don't try to do anymore. Another reason why they went down hill.

That was.. bland. Not that Linkin Park were any kind of pinnacle of musical inventiveness, but even by their fairly low standards that was pretty 'meh'.
Yep.

Even though I tend to listen to more folk, and ambient metal I don't really shy away from Linkin Park. At least they sound a little different than all the other shit I hear on the radio. This though?

The very definition of bland.

Then why was shindoa in Bleed it out, Hands held high, And Almost all the songs on Minutes to Midnight. He was in fort minor, then went back to making Minutes to midnight with Linkinpark.

If you actually listen to Metallica even before the infamous Black Album there are differences from one CD to the next. Kill'em All sounds similar to Ride The Lightning. However, Ride the Lightning is nowhere near the same as Master of Puppets, and their style changed yet again with And Justice For All. Had you said Nickelback sounds the same with every release then your argument would have held some substance, but since Metallica doesn't sound the same your argument is moot. After the Black Album Metallica ceased to be Metallica; and why are we even using Metallica in comparison to the mediocrity of Linkin Park?

Whether or not you think being civil is intelligent, it certainly makes this a more enjoyable place to be for the majority of users when we show each-other a bit of common courtesy.

If you are equating making snarky, sarcastic comments with 'showing personality', we won't see eye to eye.

But people 'hiding behind a veil of words'? I have no idea what you mean by that. It's an Internet forum, all we have to communicate with is words.

Being in the credits for playing an instrument for a song is different than helping to write and arrange the music.
Shinoda played whatever it is that he plays for Linkin Park but did not help in arrangements of the music or writing of the lyrics.

Because in my opinion Metallica is one of the most overrated bands. They are just not my cup of tea so to say and all fans of them are spouting off that they are the best thing since sliced bread. I am yet to talk to a fan of Metallica that does not have this mentality about them.
Also for Nickelback the only two CDs that sound the same are Silverside Up and The Long Road while aside from those two The State, All the Wrong Reasons and The Dark Horse all sound completely different from each other.

FINAL NOTE: This is about Linkin Park's new single so I have no idea why I decided to bring up a defense for Nickelback on here but that is as far as the argument of Nickelback or Metallica goes as far as I am concerned.

Ehh Linkin Park is awful.

Also this http://www.hometracked.com/2007/05/29/all-linkin-park-songs-look-the-same/ pretty much shows you why they are awful and why you should stop buying their stuff.

As long as you don't start yelling about how Metallica is the best ever and there will be no match or parallel to them ever.

Well that just wouldn't be true. I love Metallica and they're unbelievable, that is pre-Black Album, but to say they're the best just isn't true. Music taste is all based off of personal preference. For me they rank as one of the greats, but others will disagree and each side will have good arguments for and against.

I will have to check out the music before the Black Album. The only songs I have heard are the ones constantly played on the radio. I think its more the guys voice than anything because I have an acoustic version of one of their songs covered by Rev Theory and I can actually listen to that and like the song. I believe the song is Nothing Else Matters
