Okami was a good game, but it wasn't amazing. The graphics certainly was beautiful though. I couldn't care less if they made a new game.

My god.

OKAMI WITH AN ACTUAL STYLUS!
I can't believe I didn't notice how well the two compliment each other. The only question is how the graphics would look.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've given me a nerd-gasam.

I would love to finish Okami, but for whatever reason I stopped playing it mid-way through and that really pisses me off because it was such a beautiful game. I beat myself up for it every now and again for not playing it through, though it came down with "Legend of Zelda" syndrome where you're dropped in the middle of a task but you have no idea what the hell it is you're supposed to do.

I'm happy and scared for this. I loved Okami but sequels are kind of iffy. They can be the greatest improvement or it could mean the destruction of the series (Sonic, I'm looking at you).

Clover is gone (thanks Capcom!)
It's not Capcoms fault Clover's games didn't sell. It's the people's fault who always cry about innovation and never buy the stuff that truly is different. There's only so many tries a company can give their studios.

Also: A brand that only consists of one game is neither a series nor a franchise, even if it is great.

Oh yeah:

After they ballsed up Deus Ex Invisible Wars, it's a little hard to come by optimism, don't ya think?
Capcom made Deus Ex: Invisible Wars? I always thought Ion Storm did.

Maybe he just means them. Ya know, the super-top-secret government agency who's primary objective is to piss-off "hardcore" gamers by dumbing-down all their favourite franchises.

People only like this game because it was a wolf. Woulda been better if it was a samurai who talked to animals. But an Okami 2 would still be nice.

And don't call me uncultured or dumb just because I like bullets more than artistic brush strokes.

With Clover wilted, this Okami fan has no opinion about this (yet). The fact that the box says "Okami" on it tells you nothing about how good or how horrible it is.

And lest we forget, this is speculation based on a trademark filing. There might never be another box that says "Okami" on it.

I thought the first Okami was pretty neat but Im still skeptical about the quality. Sure its been a few years from the first but that doesn't mean anything (e.x DNF)

Unless you own the Wii lol.
Then you better like some kinda arm movement
IF it does come out for Wii it better be refined and gone over A LOT. None of this tennis rehashed crap. (Actually I kinda liked that Wii Tennis game, and the golf game that came with it is fun to play with friends especially when the whole time you swear and drink. THEN its a great time lol)

i'm glad they're not abandoning the IP. a non-clover sequel will never be as good as the original

probably not great. there's a reason clover had no interest in porting it to another system.

Ahem, just make it a 2d Metroid style game.

No. Not really. Okami was a Zelda clone. Zelda is a dungeon crawler. Just like Metroid is a dungeon crawler. It's the same damn game just 2d. Aquiring new powers and artifacts to open up new ways of accessing different area's of the map?

Yeah. Same damn thing.

I never played the original as I just got a PS2 a couple weeks ago (currently playing Shadow of the Colossus and RE4 right now.) Would like to get a copy, is it really as good as people say?

it is actually very good but you should just play shadow of the colossus 10 more times as it's my favorite ps2 game and it would make me happy

I don't really want to have to make a post that's just weird, excited noises but that's all my mind can muster after hearing this news. So, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek YAY!

Edit: Or, as has been said, it might be terrible because the original team won't be working on it. But, you know what; shut up, you're wrong, it's going to be even better than the original!
^My reaction^

Just check your menu screen and go through to the "scroll" option, one of them tells you your task.

Die.

How could you have this opinion???

...Why would you post here if you didn't even like the original???
