I am not that new but I have been around a few months and only posting on threads that catch my interest instead of posting to increase my post count.

Same here...

I've been around the Escapist for a while, started when my friend showed me ZP, which I have since diligently followed every Wednesday... After that I looked around the site some more and now keep track of Unskippable, Escape to the Movies (MovieBob is just awesome + the references he makes to the other movies while reviewing something serve well as a recommendation on what older movies to watch too), LoadingReadyRun and ENN.

I also check on the general reviews once in a while as I like not just reading reviews like on other sites, but seeing a bit what the game is like as well. Oh and cause of Susan, she's pure awesome.

Recently I made an account to make a post on one of Yahtzee's reviews, so like any good forum addict, I pootled around my profile a bit and eventually jumped onto the forums, finding a lot of fun threads, so I'm now spamming away

I see new people all the time with their post counts around 1-400.

They're always arriving. Some stay, some don't. You just don't notice them as much because they're harder to recognise.

That too. Although some people started posting furiously the moment they arrived and haven't stopped yet. Most of the 20000+ posters seemed to do that.

Actually, I'm pretty sure posts in groups count to the count.

Yes, they do. I know several of the aforementioned 20000+ers made most of them in User Groups. PRIATE has much to answer for.

I would bet money that it's what draws the most users to the site. Personally, I've introduced around a half dozen people to ZP that follow it regularly now.

Don't let the date fool you, I'm pretty darn new. Made account to post, like, once or twice, lurked forever, and then lost internet service for about 18-20 months. Really been truly active for, maybe, like the past two months, all-in-all.

I found that religion and politics gave me many posts because you get into debates. I see even newer people all the time.
