Right, I'm calling it. First two pokemon, now three. We'll be seeing full pokemon armies in a turned based (or possibly even real time) strategy game before long.

Catch them, Train them, Battle them, Rule them.

For the first time ever, you will be able to catch and deploy over one thousand on-screen pokemon as, starting with only a single pokemon you build a squad, and then an army capable of defeating the corrupt, tyrannical cabal that is the elite four. As you progress you shall defeat, one by one, the 'gyms' and their lackeys that keep the lands of Johto in check. The plot's already been used, thank god. I think that's what the old Pokemon manga was about.

I've probably said it somewhere before, but as the game looks now, I won't buy it. Sure, they've added a few cool things, but the most important part of the game, the monsters themselves, are severely lacking.

how about changing camera angles during the battles. like the way golden sun did so u could see and attack start off and see the attack from the receiving end. making the pokemon look semi-3d like golden sun would work too....what! the concept works!?

A wee bit off-topic here but as a anime enthusiast I have to ask:
Which anime?

It's from "Kure-nai", a 12-episode series in which a teenage bodyguard has to look after a spoilt seven year old girl from a rich but isolated family. It's a lot more complicated than that, but it'd take me forever to write a whole synopsis, anyway I personally like it because it's cute and the kid reminds me of my own little sister whos of a similar age!

Yeah, at 24-26 the pokemon transformed, but it looked at first like it had evolved becasue I saw that pokemon's prevolution to its left before the transform and they melded into one. It was my eyes playing tricks on me. It's still a strange new ability.

I can't wait to play it, as new pokemon is more of an attraction to me. I didn't see the part about the evolution mid-battle but that alone is a pretty good addition that's worth putting to the test in battle. Leveling up something until its ready to learn a more powerful move in its next stage, then just popping that out in battle? I'm for it. If they could find a way to make multiplayer online seem less lame than the way it currently is would be great. Maybe even find a way to weed out cheaters or give them their own unlimited battle area without the level caps would be nice too. Some people don't really care to take the time to get a lv 100 anything, especially when its nothing but grind or rare candy/cheat just to acheive it.
Stronger level foes should be after the mildly challenging elite 4.

I'd like some real changes please Nintendo. 3 on 3 is just going to get too much of a pain to manage.

Nintendo has changed the battle system in every generation.

Generation 1: Added the system, obviously
Generation 2: Weather effects, additions of 2 new types, splitting the Special stat into Special Attack and Special Defense, multitude of new moves and Pokemon
Generation 3: Abilities, Current IV and EV system, Double Battles, Natures, multitude of new moves and Pokemon
Generation 4: Special and Physical move split, multitude of new moves and Pokemon
Generation 5: So far, Triple battles, and a multitude of new moves and Pokemon

To say that Nintendo is not adding "Real changes" is illogical.

I attempt to remain objective, "They haven't added real changes" is a false statement, one that I merely challenged. You can not say that Nintendo has not changed the system, as they have. If one was to say "The system is not fun" that would be opinion. "The system has not changed" is a false statement.

Please note that I responded to the first sentence, not the second, which is most definitely opinion.

I think you're just being mean, not objective. You attack. That's just my opinion. I think it's all in how you define 'real' changes, and i don't think he was talking about the technical changes you're spouting about. I mean, for an example, you can argue that pokemon red and blue are the same/different game, with 'changes' in each. You play semantics, when the only thing you're really challenging is someone's opinion. Personally, everyone is entitled to say what they wish, even you. Just a thought though, if you're going to take someone literally just to make some kind of 'i'm the end all to be all' point, you should probably expect to get some feedback that you may not like as well.

I'm surprised to see so many people going nuts over the 3v3 thing. It's like trying to sell using the WiiMote to aim the Hookshot as an innovation for the Zelda series. I mean really... it's basically an old idea from a generation or two back, except now they've added another number. Has the Pokemon series really gotten so bland that such a thing is considered bold and innovative?

Frankly, I got bored when the third generation was coming out. It felt like they were just re-releasing the same game I had bought twice already only with a couple of minor improvements. The Pokemon series has innovated less during its lifetime than Left 4 Dead did with just one sequel, and I'm always seeing people gripe about how such-and-such series is just the same game over and over again. Yet despite that, people are always doing back-flips every time a new Pokemon is coming out.

I don't know which is worse... the fact that a series I used to love has long-since turned into a blatant cash cow, or the fact that the fans of the series are so eager to keep that cow healthy.

Well, there is also Halo and WoW, arguably. I do see what you're saying though. On the other hand, they say 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it.'
Hopefully though, we will see some relevant changes that makes pokemon feel fresh and new.
