This really looks like they're trying to go for an Iron Man/Guyver look, and failing. There is not going to be another live-action Guyver after the disaster of the first one, and the above average of the second movie. Even though I like Guyver: Dark Hero; plus it has Solid Snake as the lead role. The company that owns Guyver bought the rights back after Dark Hero, and refuse to do any live-action adaptions ever again. Speaking of Guyver, did the manga even finish? There was a new Guyver anime, but that only lasted 26 episodes and ended on a cliff hanger.Nazulu said:It looks like they're trying to make it more serious, but it actually looks more silly. Just make more Guyver movies!
Haha, that's exactly what I thought. Is that Don Cheadle?undeadsuitor said:looks like WarMachine got fed up with IronMan and joined a different team
Apparently this movie is sort of green with evil but with Rita taking Tommy's place.hermes said:They look "weird". Not necessarily bad weird, just weird for Power Rangers... Like they were trying to design for a different sentai series (one with an insects motif) and were given the rights for the IP after the fact.
The insect-like armor is quite in line with the changes done to Rita Repulsa.
Because then you'd have the Black Ranger being Black. Which is bad. For some reason. I don't know, I never even noticed when I was a child watching the show, so whatever.mariosonicfan5 said:Billy being black and Zack not just.....urks me. I mean seriously the diversity was built in. WHY WAS IT NECESSARY TO CHANGE THIER ETHNICITY!?
On the other side, yeah don't mind the armor, it just looks like a bad ass movie version of the actual costumes.
The helmets do close, earlier promo pics show it. So it's probably for down time and breaks in the action.erttheking said:Is it weird that the thing I'm most bugged about is the fact that they're open faced helmets. Doesn't that kind of go against power rangers design? The only time I remember those helmets opening was when they were damaged.
My problem is more along the lines that they open in the first place. They never did that in the show. It just feels like Venom in Spider-Man 3.Xpwn3ntial said:The helmets do close, earlier promo pics show it. Gotta show them actors' faces or you aren't getting your money's worth.
I never got into Power Rangers (it was the one thing I wasn't allowed to watch growing up), so I can't muster up any nerd rage. And I'll give props to the movie for following Iron Man's example and having semi-fullface helmets.
Apart from that, the real problem with these costumes is that they look expensive. Expensive and Power Rangers do not go together.

Yeah...no one can just do a Deadpool
It is a step up over the norm I suppose.
Expensive and power rangers. *Snort* No. No they do not. That's kind of why I think this is doomed to fail. Power Rangers is silly and cheesy, but it's what makes it Power Rangers. This feels like it's trying to be like that dark fan film without any of the irony.
The Helmets actually did open in the series, The helmets opening have been a constant for 20 years.erttheking said:My problem is more along the lines that they open in the first place.
