New Resident Evil Plot Details Revealed

I hadn't really played the games before seeing the first movie, but after my friends couldn't stop talking about the games. "Wait!" I cried, "you mean there's a plot to it all?" So when I went into my shift at GameStop I reserved REmake, at which point I became a fan.

Due to this disconnection I was able to enjoy the first film for what it was. Hell, it had a better plot than AvP at least. Paul Anderson is technically not a bad director, but he's a shit writer overall. It's probably why Mortal Kombat is one of the few movies he's done that people don't mind. What were you going to do with a plot to Mortal Kombat?

All of the sequels make me think he's just trying to flaunt his wife off (I'm pretty sure he and Jovovich got hitched, at least). They all were friends in the first film so everyone got a fair share, and then in all the sequels he has to make his wife bad ass.

Plus, when I saw the second film it just bored the Hell out of me. The third I saw on TV and, once more, bored.

Capcom did state that they wanted to reboot the film franchise, though. I'd just hope it's done by better folks than Degeneration (which also bored me).

I loved the first 3, the CGI one was kind of weird but I still got into it and I'm glad there bringing Alice back she is such a bad ass. As long as this one is not CGI as well I'm in.

Cant be worse than that fucking awful nemesis movie at the very least, and the last one was pretty ok but that fucking ending god I would rather watch Zardoz through than see that bullshit again, friendly nemesis dear god.

I'm interested. The Resident Evil films have always been an easy, decent enough watch.

Srsly, how did people expect them to be any good when the games themselves are absolutely ridiculous?

Plus, I see an opening here for some SH2 style prison scares ;D

I didn't really like the other Resi movies, mainly because I found Alice to be quite the douche. I would have rather seen Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield or Leon Kennedy as the main character.

sigh I know, milla jokcovicvhksado, jokovich? jovovich!! KIND OF annoys me as does her character. But yes, I enjoy resi evil movies, albeit less than the games, I'm not sure what to think about this though :S

After the ReBoot she apparently isn't coming back, she's too expensive of an actor (!).

I'd rather wait for the RE reboot, thank you

It's not even a proper ReBoot, it's a quasi ReBoot, they're mucking about with the origins a bit.

The RE movies are great fun, they aren't great or good, but great fun to watch for nothing other than to just watch them.

Pure fun, fucking stupid and shit story but so are the games, just fun.

I dunno. While the main plot of the first film was in no way excellent, all the background was done very interestingly. The journals and archives were very well written (at least, based on REmake). It's just the Chris Redfield/Jill Valentine stories that were rather lame with poor dialogue.

The major issue with Resident Evil is the bigger it got, the more ridiculous. Resident Evil 4 is a nice change of pace both in game design and in story. Even if it is cheese, it's entertaining pulp type cheese. Like cheese whiz on your nachos cheese. Once RE5 went back to Umbrella, though...man, RE5's story was just so fucking stupid.

I'd take the first RE movie over RE5's story.

They're entertaining, but godawful as far as actual quality goes. The concept of the movies is to distract the audience with violence, zombies and gore.

And its working.

I like the Resident Evil movies. I know that really none of them can be considered "good", but I love watching them.
