It looks like they made the character customization a lot prettier than Oblivion. Oblivion's character customization sucked unless you made use of the mods available after. Also, I want an animal companion in the Elder Scrolls series. Maybe an animal that can be customized along with the main character.

I CAN'T WAIT.

Comes out 7 days before my birthday, but I'm specifically buying it myself so I don't have to wait that long.

You'd think you were in Cyrodiil's climate, what with all the no-sleeves and light robes people are wearing.
Snow doesn't always mean *that* cold. I live in alaska, and hell, even after a really cold winter with temps around -40F 15-30 degrees in comparison you'll see people out in shorts and t shirts. So, y'know. Even during fall 30-40F isn't that big of a deal (I usually wear a light fall jacket and normal clothes with 0-20F temps -- no one really breaks out heavy winter gear until temps go below -15). Hell, I remember this one kid who always went out in shorts and a tshirt and freaking sandals during winter. Somehow he didn't get frostbite...

Actually, one of the worst things you can do is wear too much warm clothing if you're going to be out and about moving around and building up a good sweat. No sleeves is pushing it, but it's not totally impossible when there's snow out.
sweet jesus i might just move to alaska

I LOVE cold weather (from nebraska, we get seven shades of shit flying from everywhere, this past thursday we had thunderstorm on one side of the city while hail storm of the century on the other, and then the past couple days it went into hell's kitchen of humidity) to the point i am the same as that guy, i wear shorts 99% of the year (the only time i don't wear shorts is when it gets to be -10 or so out, then i toss on a set of jeans but thats about it)

thermostat is kept at 63 constant with the window open in the winter = great success

that's pretty cool. Now they don't look like humans with pasted on body parts.

I will likely play a Nord yet again, but still, bad ass.

The cat and lizard look pretty silly to me.
As someone new to the whole Eldar Scrolls series the thought of playing as a non-human character just seemed weird and emersion breaking, but the cats look really good to me, imagine playing as a badass tigerman! So I'm really tempted to pick it and use one from the get-go, although I'll probably stick with using a Nord, as I think the races are all from different areas, so why would the Dovakiin be a foreigner to Skyrim?

I am one of those people who will spend hours trying to get my characters to look just the way I like.

This pleases me.

Puppy puppy puppy!

Also, glad to see that the lizard chick has skin folds like a monitor lizard.
Not glad to see the 'zardboobs.

Why did put breasts on the not-mammal?! They had it right in Morrowind and Arena could get away with it because they were just grey people with weird faces.

Skyrim is looking awesome, and in about 5 years when I finally have a computer that will run it, I will probably play the crap out of it. Until then, I've got the other four main series games to keep me occupied; I finally picked up Morrowind this summer, completing my collection of legal copies of the games, as well as filling out my hard copy collection -- the only one I'm missing for that is Arena, which I will probably never buy.

Oh, by the way, the sliders in Oblivion weren't that bad; I managed to make a dunmer that looks almost exactly like me (blue skin and pointy ears aside), and the only reason it wasn't closer is because I wasn't looking at a mirror at the time.

Well, I am certainly looking forward to making my badass Argonian. And he won't look like a scaly potato! :D

Why's that Dunmer female look so...not pretty? It's making me sad. I love playing Dunmer.

Edit: Wow, I sound like a shallow fuck.

Let me rephrase that: I love playing Dunmer; I will use the facial reconstruction to the best of my abilities to make her look...not...like that.

This has done nothing to make me look less shallow.

-shrug- Screw it, at the expense of sounding shallow, I hope the Dunmer females can be made up to look as attractive as the other races.
