Looks like current Skyrim with a HD texture pack and one of the overzealous lighting mods.

Seriously, they could have jumped on Nexus Mods and paid some folks there peanuts and got the same result.
Are they not still giving away the game for free for anyone who bought the full game previously on PC? if that's still the case then it's cool of them to do, even if the same results could have been achieved with mods.
Nope, you also need to own all three DLCs. Granted, most people should own these by now anyway, but it's still an addional requirement.

They could of, but now new mods to the remaster can make it look even better.

If mods could make Skyrim look near enough like this, just imagine what new mods can do.

Skyrim is on sale every summer and Christmas for like ?7.99 sometimes a little more or less depending on the event.

To say most people should own them is an understatement. Everyone who has Steam and Skyrim should have them. Bethesda have said 100 times over the requirements to getting the upgrade for free.

Meh. They can do jack shit in my opinion.

Unless someone comes up with the Actually Good Combat mod, which is never going to happen, it's all just window dressing.

An Actually Good Animation mod would be nice too.

But that sort of thing in generally beyond the capability of even the best modders. If they have the skill to do that stuff then they're probably good enough to to it for a job, in which case they'll be working on something else.

I kinda had some hope for them to actually create new content to revitalize the game for old players. Maybe like something that adds more flavor to the guild quests to make them suck less.

The game was already pretty
Say wut m8? Skyrim was the ugliest AAA release of 2011 (compare to Batman:AA, Portal 2, Battlefield 3, Saint's Row 3, Uncharted 3) and 2011 was a long time ago graphically. This is probably closer to how it should've looked when it came out, save for some effects that didn't exist.

Running at 1280x1024 resolution with all settings maxed it's a beautiful game, I'm doing a playthrough now (hoping to finally finish the main story, already did 99% of the Dragonborn DLC) and it's still a treat for the eyes.
