And sony wonders why I stopped buying their shit.

Oh wait, they don't, because they're a massive corporation who couldn't care less about me. So whatever
Oh yes, and no other corporation on Earth is the same. They all care for you and give you milk and cookies, while Sony is planning to steal Christmas. That's logical.

nah, I'm j/k.

But yeah, I can see where they're going with this. Consider for a moment, people. Sony wants to make high end products for people who have the money and who want high end electronics. There are alternatives if you don't want it. That's why you can simply choose a cheaper laptop if you want to.

Now, if they were the only laptop makers on the market and forced you to buy this, then that would be different. I mean, what kinda corporation would force all their users to use the same crap and not offer any.... *looks at Windows*

Oh. Nevermind.

When you think of Sony, what comes to mind? For most people, the answer to that question is not reasonable prices.
The problem is that 'reasonable prices' is what made the PS2 so popular. Why are they making so many mistakes at the moment?

Okay, I get that it's expensive n' all ($2000 is a ***** after all) but really? How exactly does this have any real place in the news? Does anyone use Netbooks for games, or is it even possible to play games on Netbooks? I'd say "just another anti-Sony thread" though I don't want to start anything.
So, although you don't want to start anything, you're still going to call my integrity into question?
And instead of explaining you square off? ^_^

Sony has truly lost it. Setting ridiculously high prices, because they can.

My laptop was around $650 and it sucks. I mean not just for games, it struggles to do lots of basic things, only 2 hours of battery life
You could play games on it, but the rather slow processor is going to limit what you can reasonably play.

Put simply, this is just one of the greatest examples of Sony when they like giving the middle finger to their customers, I want to sympathize for Sony I really do, but to be honest they've really just dug their own hole here and jumped in. $2000? Would have been better to feed the money to a dog and then burn its droppings.

If you got that much money then buy a Toughbook® or a gaming laptop from Alienware or something. I won't buy a two grand netbook when the features aren't as grand as the price.

If a buy a two grand toughbook, I know the darn thing can take a beating.
If a buy a Alienware laptop, I know I can play high end games that usually don't work on laptops.
a Sony netbook doesn't really give us much for the money. Other than a fake skinjob.

Yep.

It's also severely underclocked as it's designed to not overheat, especially in hot environments. Overclocking it, or rather, making it perform up to snuff, can cause some overheating problems in normal situations... but I'm not even sure if you CAN overclock them.

Also, Alienware is overpriced, more so than this Netbook. For the same price of an Alienware Laptop, you can get something so much better. For example, same specs with an HP DreamColor screen.

But I agree with you. If you have that kind of money, you should probably get something that's worth it.
