Um, Ninty? Remember what happened the last time you handed one of your beloved. most popular franchises to an outside developer?
Ah yes Metroid the other M: The kitchen edition
Its really sad that they need to outsource if they decide to make more than TWO in-house titles simultaneously. There not investing on more studios and usually make the same number of games each console generation almost ONE at a time spread out each year for release, the games did not require bleeding edge graphics for the wii and the game development costs would be VERY similar to or even CHEAPER than the PS2 development costs and sell tonnes of accessory's for their console and handheld devices, where did all the money go? It's pretty obvious it didn't go into upgrading their resources for this "hardcore" gamer market grab
They're probably behind the curve in programing more advanced graphics and the manpower to do so resorting in outsourcing the development
It looks like the idea for Wii U came to be roughly a year after the Wii stop making profit... Even when the HARDWARE was still making profit per Wii sale but there was hardly any software being sold, this was a quick hasty decision to make profit on the software side and lack that "in the planning for years" feel to it. Microsoft and Sony have other divisions other than gaming to fall back on so its not hard to believe behind that smile that Nintendo is getting desperate since the DS and 3DS is the ONLY thing keeping it afloat since the "casual" non-hardcore market went back to their smartphones (or lost/did not lose weight and no longer using Wii-fit) leaving the fans to support Nintendo, which seem to be inadequate (except the handheld market)
As long as Namco Bandi doesn't include their awkward "story's" (Tekken story's after Tag Tournament make me wince) into Super Smash Bros it will be good
