I like Nickelback, despite the songs the chav's like.

Whats wrong with 'em?
I agree. There are far worse. Imagine if Britney Spears got 'entertainer of the year'.

I never cared for them, or mostly everything on the radio.
If you cared, maybe others would care. And maybe if others cared, there would be good music on the radio.
People wake up! There are children and angry old guys listening the radio and voting for the ''good'' bands like Jonas Brothers. Wake up! We should say, 'Stop! I'm as mad as hell and i'm not going to listen to this crap again!' Maybe then they would once in a time play some good music that we like. If they play something different, maybe children will give a chance to the good bands (real metal, intelligent rap or whatever you consider good) and than 'boom' they are playing it everywhere.
WAKE UP!
Why? I'm fine with listening to my iPod or CD's. They make those iPod FM transmitters for a reason. During the past month I've listened to the radio for the first time in maybe 5 years, and I always heard the same three songs. I swear every time I get in a car I hear that same fucking song by Lady Gaga that makes me want to take a shotgun to my head.

Oh, and I almost forgot. I've been listening to Rise Against for years, and a year or so before they were played on the radio. When they did start to get played on there, they played their utter shit songs, and now their newer stuff is no where near as good as the older stuff was. Thank you radio for ruining another band.
Most of us have stopped listening to radio. When i started to listen (age 6 or 7) to the radio/MTV, i started to like groups like Linkin Park and there was like one or two songs from System of a down. I bought their albums and listened to them, then developed my own sense of music and stopped listening to radio/mtv. There's no need, if you know what you want to hear.
I think that's the reason why anyone with good taste in music has stopped listening to the radio/mtv. So, there's less rock/metal music on radio/TV, that makes Pop music so pupular. There's just nothing else to hear, they don't develop their own sense of music. Some of them listen only to what's popular.
I mean that we have to change some things. We need to make good music popular.

Despite what anyone says, Dark Horse and All The Right Reasons are both kick ass albums...

As for the repetition thing... Ac/Dc anyone?

Sure they don't deserve band of the decade, that honour should go to Muse without doubt.

What? If anyone deserves it it's Britney, she gave the world barrels of lulz.

This just means the billboards are fake and/or fabricated so the idiot masses buy what the corporations want sold. The best thing we can do to hurt these music publishing companies is NOT BUY SHITTY MUSIC LIKE THIS!

Why am I not surprised? I don't mind them but there are a lot of better choices that did a lot more interesting songs.

^_^ True. Can't argue with that.
Too bad one has to put up with terrible singing and terrible press to get to the laughing parts. Such is Life.

I saw the name of this thread and yelled "WHAT THE FUCK THIS MUST BE A JOKE!"

And I had just come home from a pretty fun New Years Eve party too.......

Eh. It can always be worse. At least they had a couple of cool sounding songs. Thank God, at least it wasn't a rap act that made it. Or worse, one of the "Disney Brigade".

I don't see what the big deal is. A crappy magazine declares a crappy band to be the best of the decade. It's not like they had a lot to work with the past ten years.

Life goes on.

Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, U2 (again), Coldplay even, but Nickelback? Just don't publish that thing.

U2 has had a good decade though. 3 solid albums.

Maybe their depressing and same-y nature matched the depressing and same-y nature of the last decade, making them the perfect choice :)

"Wait, you mean there is an actual band called Nickleback? I thought that was just a general term for any shitty manufactured pop-rock"

Unskippable FTW.

Also Nickleback sound like some gay slang used by male prostitutes for cheap ass-sex... it seems strangely fitting for a band that rapes your ears with their music.

They don't include downloaded sales (or pirated copies) so basically the Billboard HUGELY over-represents people who are too stupid to use a computer and will buy whatever a retail store tells them to buy.

And I think they SHOULD include pirated copies in determining the "most popular band" since the entire point in sales is to discover how many people actually like a song by how many got it... regardless of the means.

"Readers of the U.K.'s Word Magazine recently voted Nickelback the worst band in the world"

There is still hope.

Alright thats it, people are gonna start dying now.
As long as a few Nickelback fans are caught in the crossfire, you won't hear any complaints from me.
A few? I'm hoping for a substantial number.
