The difference is that Tesla's designs actually ya know... Worked.
Leonardo's tank thing worked fine.
For about 5 meters.
Damn man, I was gonna take this if you werent... Blast!

People who say Da Vinci invented the helicopter need to be slapped... he invented the giant corkscrew on wheels.
Ah, while I have been pointing out the misconceptions you cannot deny, that with the proper materials and backing, he WOULD have invented the helicopter.
And Tesla is SOOO much cooler.
His design couldnt provide the lift needed... it wouldnt work as a helicopter. I guess he COULD have designed it if he changed his design.
His problem was that he gave up FAR too easily. He would fail at something once, them move on and never try a redesign.

Okay, Tesla coils are sweet but the death ray and earthquake machine were never found to be even remotely workable from any of his designs. They have been tested and they have failed. While the theory of using resonance works on single composition and small objects, the amount of energy to work on something the size of the Earth is far too large to be feasible.

I know it's not relevant to the thread but you get points for having a Dr. Ashen avatar.
its brown sofa time!
Which sounds like a euphemism for something horrible.

I've always wondered about wireless electricity, did Tesla postulate on a practical, safe application of it?

He supposedly made a working death ray but the design was lost. Think about it! The US army could have been firing death rays in the early 1900s and some idiot lost it! Or he was lying about making a working death ray which is entirely possible...

Yeah, but think of how difficult it would have been for him to come up with the correct formula before the technological and scientific advancements we had to create helicopters and such.

I dont think he would have cracked it unless he had a major epiphany OR got the power to see into the future. :D

We didn't lose a great scientist because of Edison. Tesla rebounded from poverty through sheer awsomeness became rich with his inventions and then died with very little money having spent it all on experiments.

Thanks to him I've earned about 10 points in laser weapons! [sub]although how do I learn more by reading the same book over and over again?[/sub]
It's not a book.
It summons Tesla's spirit.
And he tells you stuff about SCIENCE.

OT: Nikola Tesla was crazy, and a bit of an attention whore, but damn, did he have a good name.

I always thought it was Nikolai, but a quick google search proved you right.
Touche, good sir, touche.

OT: Yes, Mr. Tesla was awesome. I've always thought of him as the bad boy of physics.

I think he could have if he hadn't given up so much.

Tesla is actually from my country, and the school i went to was named after him. He was pretty awesome, but very strange, he wouldn't get closer to half a meter to people, never had sex (not even with himself) , never had friends, and was ahead of his time by a lot. His asynchronised (pardon my spelling) motor is one of the most perfect machines ever! Too bad he had no funds here and went to America :-( . Needless to say, im joining your group.
wait your serbian cause the flag and the stuff
