That sounds like brainwashing...

The pillows, shirts, decor, only source of 'official' entertainment, and probably any music chosen for the event... was all... Dragon Quest themed...?

I can imagine them waking up over the next week, screaming about slimes 'n' stuff.

Is that an image of a 12 year old girl?

Where I live they look a lot older, and have hit puberty...

Some interesting tags on this article.

Solid Snake: What.
Dr. wonderful: the.
Desmomd miles: fuck.

Well, I'll give them points on the creative process...but parents won't warm up to this/or figure a way to make this get of of control.

Wait, only little girls. I'm a 20 yr. old guy and I play it nonstop. What kind of marketing philosophy is this? Is it: As in only girls should be playing it, or as in they want to get a bunch of little girls in one place.

haha, pedophiles.

No, seriously, I know nothing will happen. But still. this is wierd and unusual. For any company to do it. Consider my eyebrows raised.

While at a glance, it may seem creepy. But I see rec centers and the like doing lock-ins all the time (and went to them quite frequently).

As long as there was proper supervision and protocols, no need to assume a creepy factor.

]Okay, then.

Weird. Really weird.
If by 'weird' you mean 'creepy as fuck' then yeah.

Edit: Am I the only one who thinks this is just Nintendo's preliminary attempt to bring Lolicon out of anime/manga and into the real world?
Yeah pretty much.

In related news: Nintendo PR Manager arrested for child pornography ring. More news at elven.

Seriously, that's one of the strangest promotions I have ever heard of. This even beats the running into a pub with a fake gun as a terrorist promotion thing.

Call me when you're having a party with girls about 8 years older than that...

P.S. I hated Dragon Quest VIII with a passion, most annoying RPG I've ever played and that's saying a lot.

Creepier?

The idea of Nintendo inviting a group of 12 year old girls to a slumber party

Or

The idea of being in a slumber party with a host of other uber-nerds?

I mean, I was watching a Kodak advert from the 80s a few nights ago; and on Primetime TV there's a running film of a pre-teen girl running across the screen naked.

I dunno...have we got oversensitive to what we see?

Never heard of dragon quest and plan to never look into now, considering I'm not 12 or a girl.
