Rubbish, the GameCube was far more powerful than the PS2. It's just that hardly anyone used the GC's power. Ditto Xbox.mythgraven said:Spot on. I mentioned in an earlier post, that Nintendo has made a name for themselves by being the "first" to utilize alot of the "gimmicks" out there, ie; touch screens, motion controllers, ect. At this point, it would be innovative, for Nintendo, to release a graphical powerhouse. Since, you know, they havent done that since the N64.
You know its funny, I ALMOST said GC. I really liked the Cube's graphics, and was rather blown away. But since the average gamer seems to have written off the GC as 'underpowered', I went with the N64.Delusibeta said:Rubbish, the GameCube was far more powerful than the PS2. I agree, and I think that the N64 is really a shining example because it balanced graphics with an expansive library of games. I felt that the GC was really stagnating as it approached its mid-ending years and ended up buying an Xbox just to play some more advanced and mature games, some of which were cross platform except for the GC! I honestly took umbrage that, for all of those GC years, I never got to experience the magic of a "Mario 64"[footnote]And of course, go figure that the Wii gets not just Mario Galaxy, but a bloody sequel as well![/footnote] or "Ocarina of Time"[footnote]This could be argued to be Twilight Princess, but by then I moved on because it was just so late in its span.[footnote].mythgraven said:You know its funny, I ALMOST said GC. It seemed, to me, anyways, that the GC started really strong, but never "fleshed out" its capabilities like the SNES/N64 did. Maybe that was it.

Nah, it'll be controlled by the length and sound of your farts.DTWolfwood said:So if they were to make a new console and still want to be the leader in innovation, doesnt their next console have to be a mind controlled console? heh
I wouldn't call that stone age, especially for when it was released. Sure 720 and 1080 are common nowadays, but 5 years ago they were still high-end and not as affordable. But mainly I quoted you because referring to Next-Gen as just a video quality thing just irked me.DragonChi said:Also, despite the fact that the Wii was launched around the same time as the 360 and ps3, i never considered it next-gen. simply because next-gen really refers to video quality and the Wii is still in the stone age only supporting 480p.
