I agree with Yahtzee when it comes to nintendo and I gave up on them as soon as I got a Decent PC. We all know why we hate nintendo, the fact that they have been making so much money from the casual market and their dead horse franchises, the way they make the same games over and over again

I can't blame them for their buisness plan or making money, pastel colured shirt wearing families and other attractive people need a way to have fun and connect with their kids/freinds without leaving the house right? no ones making me play with the Wii anyway so really I shouldn't complain BUT

one thing I will complain about is Metroid other M (metroid happens to be the one franchise out of the infamous three that I actually like) , no I haven't played it but i know enough to see that its a very low point in the franchise, Adimitidly I'm not sure but I don't think its entirely Nintendos fault since 3rd party developers had somthing to do with it.

So anyway what if Nintendo sold the rights to metroid to somone else? do you think another developer could do the best female videogame hero ever justice?

Another thing is I really wish Mario would die, he's getting on my nerves, In fact that would be a really good videogame plot in which a depressed and bitter Sonic goes on a muderous rampage through the mushroom kingdom after finally losing his mind, and in the end has a bloody fight with mario whom he eventually beats to death before commiting suicide knowing that he will never regain the glory of his past and will forever be a washed up has-been....

ok mabye not but its nice to dream once in a while

In what way do "casual" games and remakes bother you? you simply dont have to play them. There are enough other gems hidden on the Wii, like No more Heroes, Trauma Team or House of the Dead Overkill. You are missing out if you hate them just because they produce rehashes and party games as well.

if you dont want to listen to Nintendo´s babbling, then dont. and Mario is still making good games. new super mario bros. sucked imo, but the Mario Galaxy series is smokin´ awesome.

if you wanna game on the wii, but doesn´t like 1st party games, play Okami, No More Heroes 1 and 2, House of the Dead and Sin and Punishment 2.

Rehashes aren't so bad. Twilight Princess was a great Zelda game and almost made me buy a Wii, almost...

Thirded.

OT: Can people stop complaining about the wii already? It stopped being cool to do that a year ago. I don't have a wii (anymore) but I had my own reasons for selling it (mainly all the titles I played on it that had any replay value were on the Gamecube). I could care less about "rehashing franchises". Every console does it. Halo. COD. etc...

Also for me motion controls just aren't worth the hassle.

And what does Microsoft and Sony do? Make motion control shenanagins for their systems...

This just in OP, Metroid was being made by a 3rd party company for the last 3 games. Retro Studios made all 3 Prime games and they're a Texas based company.

Nintendo didn't much like them from what I gathered so they decided have someone else handle Metroid.

but the problem is your making an uninformed conclusion, the same thing that fox news would always do. The thing is, it isn't enough to simply do the research, to be truly credible I would suggest actually playing the game so you can account your own personal experiences on the matter.

Based on the Game Overthinker video on Other M, I really wish I had a Wii so I could play the game. Story and character issues aside (which he thought was great), the game is supposed to control really well and better than Ninja Gaiden.

Fourthed indeed. OP you can't just rant about things without the knowledge, but equally I can't rebuke properly as I have never played a metroid game in full either.
But the big N have made so many games that I love and go back to time and again. I agree that they do run their franchises a bit dry, some more than others, the mario games are more repetitive for example. However the Zelda games, while there are similarities, which is to be expected from a franchise, just think how different the Wind Waker is from Twilight Princess.
They may not be the kings of innovation but they really do create top notch games, for all to enjoy. And anybody who made the paper mario games gets kudos in my eyes!

Correction, why YOU hate Nintendo.

You can't blame Nintendo but you can blame EA Games?

Here's an crazy idea for you!
Play Metroid: Fusion

It was the first Metroid game (appart from a moment in Super Metroid beginning) where Samus had an inner monologue and showed genuine emotion.
People cried about that but they cried more about the seemingly linear experiance of it.
Samus started showing some emotion in Super Metroid, got more drawn out in Metroid: Fusion and was very fleshed out in the Metroid Manga.

You know, I haven't played Other M either but I strongly disagree with Yahtzee on that point and everyone else. The only thing I could theoretically agree on is the redicilousness of the restriction-system. But did they mistreat Samus or do her character injustice? No, I can tell you that right now.

Most who bash Other M haven't read the Manga, nor probably played Fusion. And if they did, they probably hated both.

On that, I can agree with you on.
But there are those who like Mario and many of the Mario games are very fun to play.

I have actually have read the manga and played metroid fusion, I never balmed EA games for anything and I played and loved my Wii before I discovered other games like the half life series and Bioshock and I havnet played it since

Agreed.
I stopped reading here.

Hey, Pokemon sucks because it sucks...I mean who would want to force babies into blenders?
What a horrific game play mechanic.
Not that I've played the game, but you know...

*After reading the rest of it, I really don' see many valid points.
Causal games have ALWAYS existed, in some form, and 'casual' can also mean different things to different people.

The Wii has loads of great games.
Ever played 'Deadly Creatures' or 'Mad World' or 'Klonoa' or 'BlastWorks'?

Nintendo do not keep making the same games.

Other M is not the same as Metroid Prime 3.
Mario Galaxy is not the same as Super Mario Bros. or the spin-off games.
Twilight Princess is not the same as Spirit Tracks, etc.

Also don't criticise games you haven't even played at all.
I know you're trying to be Yahtzee, but you failed miserably and now you look like a twat on the internet. Good job.
