I'm surprised no one posted this on this forum yet.

This is FAN made, not a real trailer from Nintendo. but it shows what a remake of Majora's mask COULD look like if they put effort into it.

Majora's mask still holds up pretty well, not sure it needs a remake. I'd be interested what they could do to Link to the Past. The whole dark wold and changing into an animal thing could be interesting. They could call it Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

I could have sworn I read somewhere (a few weeks ago) that Link to the Past was going to be re-made or at least made available on the E-Shop. Looks like Operation Moonfall (or whatever the Majora's Mask remake movement is called) is actually making a big impact.

Thank being said however, I'd rather see a remake of the top-down Link to the Past. It would seem to be the logical choice after all. Nintendo is releasing/working on a couple of side-scrolling Mario titles so it would be cool to see them make (or re-make) another top-down Zelda title...As I type that I'm reminded that I never played Phantom Hourglass and hated Spirit Tracks.

Also...

That should make things easier: Link to the Past on the 3DS, Majora's Mask - New Moon on the Wii-U

I agree with that. I got my first copy of MM when it was new and I was younger but I never actually beat it until...February I think...of this year.

I'd buy a Link to the past again. Wouldn't buy Majora's Mask; the time travel was just too annoying.
Me: Yes I almost beat this dungeon. Damn I took too long fighting the boss. Now I'll have to start all over again doing the exact same things I already did.

Also, how was I supposed to know that the bank existed outside of time and space and could store money I got from previous trips.

Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time were my first forays into the Zelda universe, and they are still my favorites to this day.

I definitely want Majora's Mask too. One of my all time favorite games...

That said, I do agree that making remakes of old games is hardly what I would call putting all the irons in the fire. If they were making amazing new games and new IPs then sure but they're not quite doing that here... I mean as much as I might like them, remakes are hardly enough reason for me to get a 3DS for example, especially when I own the originals. It doesn't say much to me when the only interesting titles I see on the 3DS are Star Fox 64 and Ocarina of Time...

Mmm hard to choose. I loved A Link to the Past so I wouldn't mind a remake but in saying so I never finish Majora Mask so a remake of that is the perfect chance for me to finish that game once and for all.

This would be the time where I would normally link to the many half page exaltations of majora's mask, but I don't have the document that has them all together with me at this time.

So, instead, I present to you what we would get if majora's mask was remade without having profits get in the way:

I really like both of them. Majora's mask is my favourite Zelda game, but since A link to the past is older I would rather see a remake of it.

Majora's Mask easily. It's the more unique game of the the two and is really more deserving of the a remake. I mean what, Link to the Past is more or less the standard set up for a Zelda, so what point is there in remaking that?
While Majora's Mask is definitely the more unique one of the two if LTTP got a full 3d remake (by that I mean third person as opposed to the overhead view) then that would be awesome.

Majoras Mask...or Link to the past...

They will both sell well so why the hell not?
Because then we get two teams of people working on a remake of zelda as opposed to a new Zelda instead of one. Majora's Mask needs it because the N64 looks like ass and it has far more uniqueness to it while Link to the Past is older and would benefit more from a call back since less people would have a copy.

I thought the next logical thing for them to do was to make Majora's Mask. As others have said, it is one of the best Zelda games, is very unique in it's layout and progression, and is really really fun. I'd MUCH rather have a new Majora's Mask than Link to the Past.

Majora's Mask, definitely. Seeing how it's my favorite Zelda, it's not really a question. Though I'd rather have it on the Wii U then on the 3DS.

But... didn't they remake a link to the past on the GBA...?
Or was that just me...

OT: To me, it doesn't matter THAT much... By the time I get around to playing my 3DS again the next pokemon game would've been released... Which is kinda annoying since B2/W2 are for the original DS so my main reason to get one is still void...
I'd probably buy Majora's Mask just for another reason to play the thing, but not LTtP...

Mind you, if there was a different 3DS game that looked more interesting than another Zelda I'd get that instead; since I still have OoT sitting here waiting for me to 100% it...
*sigh*
Now that I think about it I should probably go gold spider hunting again...
