Nintendo also revealed that the 3DS's battery will last 3-5 hours when playing 3DS games,
The touch screen isn't 3D, only the top screen is. Problem solved.coldfrog said:Gah, it just occurred to me, a major possible issue... What happens when (as it inevitably will) the touch screen gets all rubbed up and you can see marks on it? How will that affect the 3D? Did they deal with that at all? Am I the first to think of this? Because, correct me if I'm wrong, but how many of you DS owners look at your screen and can see slide marks from rubbing the screen? I use mine regularly and with great vigor, and I suspect I'd do the same with the new model, but will it be OK?
Agreed. That said, it currently isn't confirmed whether or not the 3-5 hour estimate is for the highest brightness setting. If that turns out to be the case, it would be in line with their promised DSi level battery life. If, however, it is for the lowest, then that is quite pathetic and goes against the principles Nintendo handhels have had for years. If it's the latter, I will get a PSP instead and wait for a proper redesign. But as I said, I can't really pass judgement until I know for certain...GiantRaven said:Terrible battery life on a handheld? Instant dealbreaker.
Yeah Australia has it worse but most of Europe gets fucked over with the price as well. For europe they just remove the dollar sign and stick the euro in front of it(very funny since 1 euro = 1,20 to 1,30 dollar.Tom Phoenix said:As for those of you complaining about the prices of games, keep in mind that these are Japanese prices. In Japan, games are a very expensive commodity and prices tend to be much higher compared to other regions, particularly the US (although I think Australia has it worse). In other words, the prices are definitely going to be lower in other markets.

Yeah but isn't professor Layton going to come out for normal ds before the 3ds launches? I'm not sure, but I think so.cursedseishi said:May not be the shittiest, but its still pretty damn weak. None of those games sound remotely worth the investment price, specially since a few of them are just re-releases (including Samurai Warriors, you've played one generic 1 vs 1000 button-masher, you've played them all).danpascooch said:Shittiest launch lineup in human history
And the only good game on that list is Professor Layton.
It does suck but I'm sure there are plenty of accessories and cases and stuff available for either extending the life, recharging it while on the go, or both.GiantRaven said:Terrible battery life on a handheld? Instant dealbreaker.
Just so we are clear, I am from Europe as well and I am very much aware of the horrendous prices we have. Trust me, the 1:1 conversion rate that publishers tend to use has been a constant frustration of mine. -_-D Moness said:Yeah Australia has it worse but most of Europe gets fucked over with the price as well. Your 150 dollar Kinect (to what everyone complains about the price) europe sells for 150 euro (about $180/190).
