Here's the deal. Nintendo aren't going away and frankly, most of their target audience aren't whiny nerds who will ***** about every tiny bug the console has. As a result, Nintendo are going to do whatever they damn well please. No matter how much we be about the Wii, Nintendo doesn't give a shit about us. We're gamers, we'll buy games anyway. They want all the parents and the tots. Its them that don't buy games and are because of the Wii. Its also them that don't know enough about video games to fill several internets full of bullshitty whining about every issue they have about the Graphics limitations and control schemes. Nintendo are going to keep doing what they've been doing: low budget, easy to make games that will make them fuckloads of money. Frankly I liked the concept I just felt that the sensors were kinda bad. Other than that all the power to Nintendo.
Pokemon let's see they've done: Time and Space, every human emotion, every natural element, Life and Death. What now? We go for GOD! Oh wait, we've already got that one.
Heh, I remember that. I think Pokemon is dead. Metroid like you said is still great. Although with Metroid Prime 3 being the last Prime game does that mean the games are going to stop being awesome as well? I think Zelda can still live if they combine what was great about Wind Waker and what was great about Twilight Princess.
Nintendo is holding on by those franchises. If they lose that, then they will become overrun with shovel ware and die. Perhaps then they could team up with Sega and make some awesome games that appeal to both audiences.
Nintendo has really shot themselves in the foot for the past 3 generations on 3rd party devs.
N64 had cartridges while everyone else was using disks and many devs did not take up their offer. GC had mini discs, again everyone else used standard CD rom size so a bit of different programming. The DS' touch screen control, a lot of third party titles tend to simply cram it in for one gimmick (i.e. Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime). Wii, I think I can stay quiet on that.
I think the only mildly successful consoles since N64 for 3rd party games with Nintendo were the Game Boy Color and Advance.
Maybe the Big N should focus more on their second party teams like Sega (but no Sonic), Camelot Software Planning, and correct me if I'm wrong, Retro Studios
*sigh* Must every topic about Nintendo turn into nothing but half-assed bashing and "me too!" bandwagoning from people who've never touched one of their systems?
The only people who know what Nintendo's going to do next is Nintendo itself. They have hinted that their E3 press conference will focus on "games," but that could mean anything. It really does make you wonder where they could go from the Wii's revolutionary motion controls. Virtual reality, perhaps?
Thanks for that post. It helped me calm down a bit. Always forget how much Nintendo whine threads (that usually don't start out that way) get me annoyed. Again, thanks for making me take a step back and not get involved in a ugly flame fest.
Sorry dude but that sort of attitude doesn't help. Perhaps there was a satirical hint to the post there? Otherwise it just confirms to others that they can push fans buttons. I'm a fanboy from time to time myself in the cause of Nintendo, but even I don't go off my rocker like that.
I merely stated the truth and nothing more. Nintendo is doing their thing and this time it just happens to piss off the people that used to flock to them. I am a Nintendo fanboy too ,but I am not going to get pissed off at them for being creative.

Fair enough dude. Good for sticking to your guns. I will always support the Wii myself, just not as vocally. Well, unless the little shits are talking about how they 'pawned a noob and then teabagged that ******'. Gave those 12 year olds a piece of my mind.
{Wii bashers are so hysterical. They act as if Nintendo has betrayed them when it only did what it has done since the beginning. MAKE INNOVATIVE GAMING TECHNOLOGY!!!! For godsake, if Nintendo weren't out there gaming would be a stale dumpster filled with boobies and gore. I understand that you don't like the games but don't bash Nintendo because they aren't catering exclusively to your needs. If you take one thing away from this rant, let it be this. NINTENDO WILL NEVER BE SONY OR MICROSOFT SO STOP DREAMING AND GET OVER YOURSELVES.
P.S. It is not Nintendo's fault they don't have the games you crave it is the developers. Hopefully Microsoft and Sony will drop out of the console race and developers can focus on making great games for the next Nintendo console.
This. i am so tired of all this nintendo hate, every one of their games they made have been amazing, Super Mario Galaxy was the best mario Game since super mario 64 and might even be better. Metroid was a great title and so was twilight princess. The animal crossing was not revolutionary but it in no way ruined the series. or even hindered it. SSBB was also a great addition to their library. And that is only the nintendo made games, games like no more hero's, madworld, and House of the Dead: Overkill. They all utalise the wii mote perfectly. The problem is people think that since the wii is also catering to the non hardcore it can no longer be a hard core system, but that's marketing.
Thats like in WoW all the hardcore s complain that raids should be 40 man and take a week to purely clear a raid. Just because they are trying to pull in a different crowd players think they are betraying them.
Bottom line If you shovel through all the shit put out by third party's you find a lot more than a "few" gems in the library, and have you ever noticed all the good games do not require the use of much motion control, they use just the right amount to make the game interesting and fun without having you shake your arm like forty year old man in his basement.
Now on topic, I would say a wii with better graphics, keep the motion sencing Nintento and prove everyone wrong ^_^.
I was there when the NES was released. Played every single Mario game since and I'm still craving more.
Wii is a weak console in terms of power yes. So what?
I still have more fun on it than I do on my xBox or mates Playstations.
If I want a fun game or I have mates over, I use my N64or Wii.
If I want to play a real game, I use my PC.
In my opinion - Microsoft and Sony are still in console-diapers.
Come back when they've got 20 years experience under their belts and if they've actually tried something innovative for once, THEN and MAYBE THEN you can all whinge about Nintendo, yeah?
1.
The French couldn't retreat, because they'd been invaded. They were surrounded and out-gunned. All they could do was let the army put down their arms to avoid unnecessary casualties. Of course, while there was no organized military anymore, the people still fought back through guerrilla tactics.

Wii: 50+ million units sold
PS3: 23+ million units sold
360: 30+ million units sold
Nah, not a WWII reference. I'm just American, I make France jokes. (Edited so I don;t sound like a complete ass). Still though, can't deny French dominance around the time of Henry V.
And for the sales department, I admit defeat. More research will be required to properly post next time.
Still though: http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/galleries/top-25-reasons-to-ditch-nintendo/?cp=10 to help with my coffin point.
