they basically are human humanoid souls that were sinful during there life and got stuck in these bodies. in disgaea 1 they get mentioned allot and a couple of important characters may become/become/are prinnys. they need to work in service to people in the netherworld or celestia to be able to go into... heaven(?) whenever a certain event happens.

in battle, they are mediocre. however, you may pick them up and throw them at enemies to cause AOE damage based on there health. however, they die whenever you do that and then you end up using up a character spot that you could have used to bring another more helpful character into battle.

Phenomenal, it seems that exploding penguins are as useful in games as they would be in realistic hypothetical scenarios. Intriguing concept, though.

Think about the character design they use for games like this. By those standards, a woman would be considered "gluttonous" if she had HIPS.
