I've long ago realized that they've substituted horror for gore. When was the last time you saw a horror flick that genuinely scared you instead of just disgusting you (if it even did that) with gore?
Horror movies don't exist anymore. They are all torture/porno flicks sadly...
You might want to check out productions from outside of the USA. Horror movies still exist.

Anyways, I think the original just didn't sell well on the PC, so they just don't port this one. Meh. Can't blame em.

The PC port of Dead Space was pretty lousy, with a lot of control issues. Perhaps that's why sales didn't thrive on the PC, if that fact is true.

When I purposely buy a shooter for my Xbox because I can aim better with thumbsticks than with a mouse, something is horribly wrong.

Well not from a film that was labelled as such, the closest one could be Sunshine, if only because I didn't see it coming.

But I know a game, even if it's years old, Eternal Darkness. Dyack needs to get his ass in gear lest he taste my boot in those hind quarters.

OT: The reason I say this is bullshit is because people played and enjoyed the last one, and now they won't get to experience it unless they have another console. Fuck that.

... But but but....

meh. It was alright playing it for a little while on the PS3 but with the mouse... That wwould be balls awesome.

Edit, and I still think that if anyone said that this is a sign of the PC dying... Is an R-tard. It definitely isn't dying from the players, businesses are trying to murder it with shitty ports becuase they know that with a PC, players actually have a little fucking control over their entertainment and MS and Sony are saying fuck that, we're going to bone you in the ass, and your'e going to like it.

"Who needs Dead Space when you have S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (and Doom 3)?" is all I'm going to say.

Oh noes! Dead Space 2! PC! So sad...!

Wait.

No I'm not. Don't know many PC Gamers who even bothered to purchase Dead Space 1 when it was on a huge Steam Sale - I certainly didn't. EA probably did right by not releasing the sequel for PC - we don't care much for it. That said - it's a shame for the few who do care.

That picture is ridiculously ignorant, truth be told. The gaming world in the different eras represented have next to nothing to do with each other. Might as well post up a picture of Calvin peeing on [http://www.isitfast.com/pee_on_decals.htm] consoles for all the slack-jawed hick notion that goes into posting it up.

That said, no Dead Space 2 for the PC seems like their loss. I'm pretty sure if they ran the right numbers they'd see a profit from supporting the platform, even with piracy involved. Perhaps they'll put it out for the PC a few months after consoles.
I'm sorry, what part of that picture is "ignorant"? And what does the sentence "The gaming world in the different eras represented have next to nothing to do with each other" mean? And "slack-jawed hick notion"?

In any case, I never played the first Dead Space, and I'm honestly not that interested in it or in a sequel. It seemed far too clunky and gimmicky.

I'm certainly going to. I'm not about to start signing petitions or anything, but I really enjoyed the first Dead Space and I was looking forward to the sequel. So it's definitely a disappointment.
What about the horrible control, mouse sensitivity, v-sync, lighting, and AA problems the first one had? Wouldn't you be happier playing it on a console rather than playing a crappy port? Sure, in an ideal world they'd pull a Bioware and port it beautifully, adding all sorts of bells and whistles and changing up the menus and controls until it's perfect, but this is not a perfect world, and there's no way they would do that considering the first one was laughably bad.

Descent. Although even that had a bit of gore n gross-out horror. But yeah, torture-porn seems to be all the horror genre consists of today. Bear in mind, though, that if you have a look at what was 'horror' a decade or so ago you will find that it doesn't seem all that bad at all, and you won't understand what all the fuss was about. I think we're all pretty de-sensitised these days, tbh.

OT: Damn, I enjoyed Dead Space and was looking forward to another instalment. Then again, if they won't support my platform of choice, fuck 'em, it's their loss. And mine...

Dead Space 2? * yawn * Who cares?
Aye. The first game was mediocre at best, boring and tedious at worst.

Ah, see this next reply I'm doing:

I am terribly sorry, perhaps it is because of my inferior knowledge of the mighty English language, but the phrase "The gaming world in the different eras represented have next to nothing to do with each other." makes little sense to me. Could you please clarify?
"The gaming world in the different eras represented" refers to the "gaming world" (meaning the impact of games in human society at the time) in all the boxes you see represented (the different eras) in that picture.

"have next to nothing to do with eachother" refers to how the gaming world had changed radically over all of those pictures.

(Maybe I could have phrased it a little better, but it's a perfectly valid sentence.)

The point is that it's really silly to slap a "happily dying since" message on all those box titles [http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s258/gunblade730/happy.png] because those games were created in a completely different environment from now. There's zero relevant context to make any kind of assertion that PC games are okay. It becomes "slack-jawed hick" statement in that it reassures via ignorance.

I believe the point of the picture is that people have been saying games have been dying since 1985 and they've been obviously wrong. In fact, any statement that "the PC is dying as a platform" is so beyond wrong that it is laughable.

And I still stand that your sentence was improperly constructed and does not yield the meaning that you meant to contain within it.

And also, there's nothing mean, demeaning, unintelligent, or derogatory in the image or in the thought of posting the image. It's just a silly picture created to shed some light on how foolish saying "The PC is dying" is.

Yes it does. And it's wrong for doing so for the reasons I described.

If taking a picture of a bunch of things is all it takes for you to believe something is fine, then there's a lot of stuff in this world that has undergone massive decline that I can easily prove (incorrectly) to you is doing fine.

No, because consoles suck.[footnote]The above comment about consoles sucking was (mostly) a joke, so simmer down, fanboys[/footnote]

Honestly, I don't recall having any major issues with the PC version. What was wrong with the controls or the mouse sensitivity? What lighting issues? I'm not being dickish here, they're serious questions. What was so "laughably bad" about it?
