Games for Windows Live and/or Securom = no sale. And now there won't be a demo, either? They can kiss my ass.

CDProjekt, shut up and take my money!

Yes, no, and we are waiting until the 17th. To play The Witcher 2.

M$ are just frightenend because the majority of all the potential pc customers, have stated that they want to try the demo before buying the game.

well i guess i'll finish my first play through of the witcher by the 20th then run through fable (i'm sorry but i liked both previous ones so 2nd playthrough of witcher can wait till after). I just wish they'd give a demo, anyone else noticed alot of developers don't anymore? Oh well chances are the game will be leaked in the next few days.

Don't bother, pc gamers. Fable 3 is the worst Fable game. It's way too small, linear, and easy. You still have no armor or cool clothing, just a variety of renaissance styles that no one asked for. I would purchase Fable 1 on steam in a heartbeat. They should really consider presenting The Lost Chapters.

Gee, I wonder if they know it isn't going to sell well if everyone gives it a try and declares it shit.

HMMMM.

But how one can make sure that game can properly run on their system?! PC games always must have some kind of demo, to check if the bloody thing actually works.

I'm always skeptical of the quality of a game when the makers refuse to make a demo. I want to see how the controls work and what the graphics look like before I commit to the game. If there is no demo, one has to wonder, does it suck so badly that a demo would reduce sales?

Quite a bad idea tbh, stinks of "we wouldn't want you to see it's a shitty console port before buying it" all over.

It seems that one of two messages can be gleaned from this:

1. "We have approximately zero confidence that exposure to actual gameplay is going to encourage the PC audience to embrace this product."

or

2. "Screw it, anyone who was that desperate to experience Fable III before the PC release date has probably found a way to play it on an XBox 360 by now."

Neither is exactly encouraging.

I suppose it could also be a situation where it was decided that expending efforts on a demo wasn't where they wanted to use what limited time/resources remained to them. But that's not exactly the message it sends.

Though Microsoft sending the wrong message to its customer base at this point is about as unpredictable as a Red Sox loss or an Anonymous statement.
