I'd say it depends on the player. I've seen Torbjorns who'd gotten an awesome hand on their Rivet Gun's drop-off point and who held their own as actually damage-dealing types without their turrets being taken into account.Kibeth41 said:It's super annoying whenever Torbjorn/Symmetra get play of the game. I feel that turret damage shouldn't count towards it. I want to see actual plays, not just someone jerking off while the CPU plays the game for them.
It could be worse, you know. I remember hearing that in the Beta, the system was initially set to factor in healing as well. If Bastion dominates the system for raw damage output, Zenyatta does for raw healing if any one of his users get to pop his ult more than two or three times per match.Kibeth41 said:Yeah, and it'd be great if that got shown as Play of the Game, but it never is. I just wish they'd create some separation between player damage and turret damage. If you get play of the game, it should be because of a play that YOU personally made.
This is actually the only thing that bugs me. The main thing a person has to learn with Bastion is positioning, but this doesn't even apply to AI since they only have good aim going for them. He's the easiest hero in the game to steamroll AI with, so it feels like I'm barely getting to learn a new hero when the enemies are always mowed down as they get a couple feet from spawn. You're absolutely entitled to play however you want, but this is probably what's bugging people. I usually leave the game if there's a Bastion on my team when I'm playing defense against AI.Zydrate said:Even if I'm playing against AI.
I've been paying closer attention, and yeah you seem to be right. Something must have went terribly wrong in that Roadhog game.Blitsie said:Its definitely got to be based on your standing on your team, I noticed in matches where I get a great headstart (like five to ten kills in the first few minutes) and proceed to get royally wrecked for a long period and not gain any kills, my medals started going down from gold to silver to bronze, which I think must mean it's because someone got more kills than me and so.
I can agree, but I tend to play in AI to cool down from a load of getting my ass kicked in QP, or simply to learn a hero I'm less familiar with, such as Mei or Mercy. There's no reason for you to ragequit just because you see someone playing a Bastion, except for simple ego.RedDeadFred said:This is actually the only thing that bugs me. My point had nothing to do with ego. For me, AI battles are for learning heroes (that's fine if it's about something else for others, but I'm not obligated to finish a game with them). I can't do that very well if the enemies are getting mowed down before I have much of a chance to do anything to them. It's not a ragequit, it's a boredomquit. It takes maybe 30 seconds to leave and get into a different match, so I'm saving myself a good 5 mintues. Besides, it's not like I'm hurting the team since playing Bastion against the AI is easy mode, regardless of the difficulty you actually selected.Zydrate said:I can agree, but I tend to play in AI to cool down from a load of getting my ass kicked in QP, or simply to learn a hero I'm less familiar with, such as Mei or Mercy.
