In all honesty, I didn't even notice Link was a lefty til now. It might just be one of those things I never noticed because they're such tiny details when playing the game.

He could be a righty or a lefty nd it wouldn't effect the game in the slightest.

I kinda care, but I'll forget in 5 minutes anyway. I know someone who is left handed, and he had a hard time playing the Wii Zelda game, and actually held the controllers in the opposite hands just so it would feel comfortable enough to be okay at playing.

I'm a lefty as well.

With the full motion control thing, I could see there being an option to switch which hand does what. I would very much like that.

Right, time to yell at Nintendo again. I'll be back after I shoot them a strongly worded letter.

EDIT: Aaaaaaaand, done. They should respond by tomorrow. Hopefully they'll listen this time. Then maybe I can fly to the moon by wishing on a star.

EDIT 2: I'm right handed, and I'M pissed about this.

More immersion for lefties like me :D. At least since you have to use the nunchuk, hopefully there is a switch option :/.

When you spend 20+ hours per game looking at the guy with a chase style camera, handedness is something that you notice. I'm not happy with this, but since that won't keep me from buying Zelda games Nintendo has reason to care whether or not I'm butthurt about this.

Righty IRL.

Links a different person in each of his games (or atleast most of the time) so wouldn't it only be natural that his sword hand preference would change?
Link is a series of reincarnations; unless we're talking Toon Link it's the same character living different lives.

It's only become an issue now because of the motion controls.
An option for classic controls would fix that. Or just dumping the motion controls all together.

They've put so much time and effort into doing all of the motion controls that to add a classic controls option would probably seem to the developers like a slap in the face.

Almost every Zelda game features a different Link in a different time period. Why is it so horrible for a few of them to be right-handed?

I care because i'd like to hold the sword wiimote in my dominant hand!
Also, it was always kind of cool to have a specifically left-handed hero. I have looked, but is Shigeru Miyamoto himself a lefty?

As a lefty myself i can see why they care.

Because he's just about the ONLY hero out there who is a lefty as well!
I agree. We need more left-handed protagonists! Link was our last hope D:

Honestly, I doubt I'll notice all that much, but seeing as I've played every 3d Zelda with lefty link (even twilight princess since the game is basically mirrored across Gamecube and Wii. No, seriously, check the map for the Wii and then for the Gamecube. They're mirrored.)

Well it's mostly a matter of tradition. Link has traditionally always been left handed up until TP and now they've changed it for, what many believe, is no good reason. Personally, I don't think this is something worth getting all steamed about. Yeah I'd like it if Link remained a lefty, but there's nothing I can do about it and all the whining in the world is not going to stop them from changing it.

ehh.. it's easier to play the game as a righty, because that's how you hold the controller, and holding it any other way is wrong.

but it is sad to lose a fellow south paw to the advent and evolution of gaming technology *tipshat*

Considering that only about 0.1% of all Asians are lefties, and only about 10% Europeans... How the hell did Americans end up with over 20% ???
Like how only 15% of Koreans have double eyelids. And out of that 15%, 30% has it through cosmetic surgery.

Does it really matter? Besides, the only people who would want to play as a lefty link in a motion controlled game are lefties. Perhaps Nintendo will put in an option to flip the world around a la TP port to gamecube for the lefties and the nerds.
Your on a gaming site...talking about games...with over 100 posts, and your calling other people "nerds"?

OT: I'm left-handed, if it's for the wii(It is isn't it?) I can see why they're pissed, I hate holding the control's goofy style.

I think the reason was because most people are right-handed. They want to use their right hands to swing the sword with, so Nintendo made a change to keep the immersion (Though they did break it for the lefties.)

As a lefty, I can honestly say I don't mind. After all, I played all of Twilight Princess as a righty, and it didn't bother me one bit, so why should this? I suppose it's a bit of a blow to the fanbase as they're changing something so integral to the progression of the series--Honestly, how could anyone be torn up about this?
