I mean NO offense at ALL to ANYONE who might or might not read this topic. Nor am I trying to brag or whatever.

Being a regular on here for a while I've noticed there are a lot of people who have disorders and manias and OCDs and whatnot. For example when I was browsing a 'What's your disorder' topic a while ago there were like 20 pages and there were no posts that had like a minor thing.

Is it really that 'bad' around here?

Are 'normal' people in the minority over here?

Again: no offense to ANYONE

EDIT:

As you should have been able to read: with normal I mean not having disorders and such..

EDIT:

Geez, do I have to spell it out for you? ' <- Means something is not to be taken (entirely) literally. Ofcourse theres no such thing as normal but there are various degrees of normality. For example, someone with Down's syndrome is a lot less 'normal' than someone who just wants to have a clean room...

Normal people are always the minority in an intelligent forum. At least, that is what I have found. Most intelligent people I meet tend to have a mental quirk because of their intelligence. A way to deal with it, if you would.

Either that, or the water where I live is wonky. I know the air is.

There are no normal people in the disorder threads because no one is going to go there to say something unless it's interesting.

First off, 'normal' has absolutely no meaning as people can't be classified into normal and abnomral (unless you have some sort of mutation like 3 arms ar some superpowers, but let's not go into that right now). Each person has his/her own definition of 'normal'.

OT: I don't fit in your definition of normal. I OCD with numbers: always has to end in 5 or 0.

If by "normal" you mean those with no social issues, family problems, or mental disorders then... well, I'm normal. I'm a bit awkward, hate my mom, and was onced diagnosed with ADD, but I live a normal, happy life.

If by "normal" you mean something else, well... HELL no. No way am I normal. I'm a freakin' nerd :p

I consider myself normal, in terms of OCDs, manias, quirks, et cetra.
Except the fact that I still have some faith in humanity, some consider that odd.

"Normal" people are always a minority. There's something different about everyone.

I'm perfectly normal except for a severe bleeding condition. It only stops me doing a handful of things and barely impacts my life at all.

The first time I saw this forum I thought it was the most intelligent forum ever. A few trolls sneak in sometimes.

I meant the first part, it's a bit obvious that there will be a lot of 'nerds' on an internet gaming forum :p

Do you really mean normal? Or do you mean perfect? I think its more normal to have something wrong in your life... if everything in your life was perfect and 100% amazing then you would be one weird person...

You are on a gaming forum and you ask if people are normal?

Answers your own question really.

Being bizarre is normal here.

Personally, I think smart people aren't all that normal. I mean, really intelligent people are unusual in many different ways. The average person, by definition, isn't a genius. I think this is because, in your genetics or in your malleable brain, there's no genius ON/OFF switch. Chances are, whatever makes you different by being a genius (or whatever) is also doing other stuff, which may or may not itself be entirely beneficial. After all, mutations and deviations are random.

Anyway, normal just means normative. Normal is just what most people seem to be.

*tentatively raises hand*

I mean, I have my minor quirks and differences just like everyone does; and i'm far from the typical gender-role-fitting guys guy (and pretty happy i'm not!) but theres nothing weird about me, or anything that stands out that you would notice until you really get to know me.

So pretty normal overall.

It's true their are a lot of 'different' people here, but I think that comes with the whole idea that this site caters to a lot of 'geeks' or 'nerds', as they are often very different from other people. No offense meant to them.

I don't dislike people who are different, I only dislike people who try to be different because they think it's cool or want to stand out for attention. I firmly believe everyone should just be themselves. People who try to be something they're not piss me off.

As for disorders, nope I don't have any as far as i'm aware.

You post count must really drive you crazy, then.
What with it ending in a six.

it's normal to think you have a serious disorder as it helps you explain yoyr life and allows you to blame your problems on an external source thus not your fault

though im sure a lot of people here do actually have a diagnosed disorder of some sort

also, did you consider the amount of people who viewed the topic compared to the number who posted?
