Judging by how much money my friends have dumped into blizzard over the years (especially with hearthstone), I suspect blizzard can make all of the terrible 'no boys allowed' clubhouses made from ripoffs of other games as they please. While I wasn't going to get this game (I have TF2, why would I bother?), I hate to see the company shoot themselves in the foot like this. It reminds me a lot of how Square keeps missing the point of what makes the things they copy successful in the first place.
The only communities this game will build are pre-existing ones. What a shame. Also, what the hell are they going to do for tournaments and those great big gaming cons? Server lag will kill that scene.
