The video game industry is seriously a bunch of billion dollar corporations trying to determine what their customers will like, rather than doing some research to find out what in fact they do like.

And it's a surprise to them when one AAA game after another fails after another.

EA needs to drop the A from their name, they are no longer "Artists"

What I loved about most of the C&C games I played is that the campaign didn't only have a compelling story, it actually taught you how to play the game in a steady pace that was also able to keep the game interesting.

The pacing that they introduced new units and new strategies was actually very well done in the games I played. It's a shame that they won't have the same campaign experience in this new title.

Too true...if I wanted multiplayer all the time I would buy this. Since I most clearly DO NOT, I'll pass on a series I once really enjoyed.

Just like that new stupid simcity. I play games to play by myself.

Seeing how i still play c&c 3 skirmishes against ai, and have never taken it online, it means i wont see a point in even thinking about this. ( i also didnt pay for it :D )

Of course everyone knows this is because ALL PC GAMERS are PIRATES so to sell more copies, we will sell a la Diablo-framework.

Hrm. Well, good luck >_>

That's acceptable to me if there is an AI and it's worth playing against.

Although it seems odd to hear BioWare say that the story is unimportant, even in a game like this.. But I do have to admit of all the many strategy games like this, very few did I finish the campaigns for. Most of them weren't terribly interesting to me. But it's more about how they were done than the game type.

WarCraft III+expansion is a game like this and has an excellent story, better than most. Really, all the WarCraft games. Except WoW.

As long as I can play offline skirmishes with the AI,... because I really don't like it when they slam into my face that there's a multiplayer mode
Pretty much this.
I was, at first, looking forward to Generals 2 (Oh wait, I'm sorry. "Command and Conquer", as they're pretentiously naming it.), I had seen a few screenshots of it and since it was made by Bioware it looked pretty. After the ME3 debacle I was worried about just how the story would go, and now there is no story because EA wants to take the game back to its roots by taking out its roots.

Wait, what.

I can never play multiplayer in RTS games, I get wiped out in about a minute, or I get cornered into a position I can't work my way out of. I can play against Medium AI and that's pretty much it. In my opinion, this whole "e-sport" thing is a load of BS.

Generals was great fun different from other C&C games but still fun, Tib Wars and Kane's Wrath were even better, Red 3 stubled here and there, but Uprising somewhat made up for the miss steps, C&C 4 was a fucking disaster and now this. Its like EA is a plague that kills games.

THIS GUY AND HIS STORY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP THE C&C FRANCHISE!? Have you gone completely mental EA/Bioware? In the RTS market Kane is without a doubt its most recognizable face... sigh. I know that the Generals franchise isn't the same as the main franchise but to say Command and Conquers early success has nothing to do with Kane and his cheesy plots is like saying Mario and Princess Peach aren't integral to the success of the Mario franchise. People might love the platforming but it's not why they stayed. There have been many other Mario pretenders out there some no doubt with better gameplay but people like Mario and Princess peach and the world they live in...

Well no shit, I wasn't expecting it to have a single player. Especially after the news that it would be a F2P multiplayer game, who was?

Excuse me, I need to smash my forehead against a cement wall until the urge to repeated stab John Van Caneghem in the stomach with a blunt, rusty piece of steel fades away.

Isn't Generals the one that absofuckinlutely sucked anyway? The one with shittier AI than any previous C&C game and indeed possibly any previous RTT ever?

Y'know, the one no one would've bought anyway?
The fanbase is completely broken. Asking the C&C official forum which C&C game was best is like asking Pokemon fans which generation was best.

Back to roots? I don't' seem to remember ever playing a single online match for the First C&C Generals. . .

Well, this completely dropped off my "might be worth a look" list.

I predict this game flops. No, I guarentee it. Sorry but even MMO's let you do quests alone. There is no excuse for this. BioWare is known for single player so you really are not playing to their talents...
