Anytime someone mentions cake I feel obligated to to tell them that it is, in fact, a lie.

This'll follow with some blank stares.

I make jokes that refer to several games and only a few of my friends get them. But really if they don't even know who Mario is, or know nothing more than 'hes the red guy who's sonic's brother" then my jokes just fly over their head.

I was having a discussion concerning TES: Oblivion (dungeon crawling, ayleid ruins, light versus heavy armor, different spells, etc.) with my friend in German class. Then another friend who's never even played Pacman or Super Mario tells us the biggest nerds she's ever seen.
Then me and my friend start using internet slang and she just laughed and ruffled our hair.
She is just jelous cause nerds are all the rage now and she is to silly to be part of the in crowd. Silly here meaning dumb as bricks.
I hope you're not being serious.
I'm with you man, I actually shy far away from people who talk about MMO nonsense in public.
I actually don't mind MMO discussions in public; it was manaman's remark that annoyed me.

"Well excuuuuuuuse ME, princess"
I don't think that counts, since it's from the cartoon, but it's Zelda dammit, and I say it sometimes just to be an asshole. I also go up to random people and say "Hey! Listen!" right in their ear.

Ah yes, that. Hilarious view that the super nerds sometimes hold isn't it?
Indeed. Of course, no reply yet. No surprise there.

Actually that comment right there was insulting. So here goes some clarification: I happen to not live on my computer sorry I could not respond on your schedule. A joke is a joke, if you have trouble with the most basic interactions with your fellow man on a text base I shudder to think how much trouble you might have in face to face interactions. No offense man, but lighten up, not everyone shares your point of view and the best you can hope for is to learn to let it slide off your back.

I apologize. I didn't catch the humor; it looked very much like a trolling post.

I am not offended, but look at the join date over there. I doubt I would have been around as long if I was a troll, or trolled at times.

You are all right in calling someone out if you found the post offensive, or in asking for clarification. Problem was how you went about it can be interpreted as insulting. Especially when you start insinuating things about a person without even giving them proper time to respond. Just a thought for the future.
