If you lived in a city where being crazy, weird, and random was the social norm while being well adjusted was considered strange behavior how would you act in order to fit in?

As for me I would wear pants on my head, cover my feet in peanut butter and run around swinging a tube sock filled with peaches proclaiming that I am the muffin man.

Well....I act pretty bodacious-crazy in school, so much so that before I left for Washington D.C., my asshole peers told me that I wouldn't survive.

So if this were a bizarro version.....I guess I'd act normal. Then, that'd be considered weird....but that's normal in real life.....ahh....my mind.....I can't control it!! Kaneda, help! AHHHHH!!!!

I would do the same, but when I meet you would loudly proclaim "NO I AM THE MUFFIN MAN, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE MUFFIN MAN!!!!

And then I would kill you highlander style with a huge claymore while dressed as the joker.

"act to fit in" I wouldn't have to, I'm already crazy and random. But i wouldnt' change who i am, if you can't deal with who i am, that's ur problem. also, the "normal" person is a myth, everyone is a little bit crazy, no matter how well they hide it.

I'm going to go with the "everyone's already freaking insane" option. And no, I don't believe I'm the only sane one here. I'm pretty sure someone needs to put a straight jacket on me, too.

I'm amazingly weird already so I'd fit right in. I'd probably start acting normal to feel unique again.

Normal is simply a relative term, relative to whatever you are used to. I consider myself normal, but only a few friends would say the same. Everyone else would consider me freaking insane. But, I like it that way.

Im sorry but where are these "Normal People" you speak of. Also how and by whom is "normal" defined?

The concept of Normality is highly subjective and based on your own Inherited and learned beliefs and social patterning

Normality is Perceived by People who hold the same ideals and practices as the "norm" within certain social and societal groups but that does not make it Normal it only makes it relevant to the experiences of the group (do not challenge the "norm") Ie: Normal for one isn't Normal for another

I'd probably end up glaring someone into flames.
I fucking hate "random" quotation marks because that is not what that means.
It's like, this is not endearing. You're not funny or quirky or special, okay. We can all see you trying to be, but you're not. So stop it.
You're just annoying the shit out of everybody. Except all the other attention whores. But I imagine they're too busy trying to join in and upstage you to pay attention to the stupid shit you're doing.

But I am supposed to assume everyone is acting like a massive toolbox for no particular reason, aren't I. They're just off the wall batshit.
Fine then. I guess I'd just...
End up glaring someone into flames.
What can I say, it's annoying regardless of the intent.

I'd probably do something completely out of the ordinary for me like going off on massive nerd rants at the slightest provocation or acting just flat-out insane until heads start a'sploding or... oh wait.

I'd become a Batman villain.

I found a flaw within your post.

There is no such thing as normal people.

I'd be... the same, sleep-deprived-so-everything-is-hilarious, crazy-random person I am at anime conventions. You know, the kind you find in the con hotel at 4am, laughing way too loud under a staircase with like 7 other people.

I'd probably also run down the streets in my boxers, yelling completely random things, and stopping strangers on the street to give them Vital Information-esque bits of wisdom.

I would also invite my friend to be mayor. Even if we have no mayor, or no one votes for her (even though she's already the Queen of Candy Land). We're all crazy, so she can at least run around pretending to be the mayor. Possibly with hand-raised aquarium fish minions, and an army of bees.

also, from the looks of this thread, I'd say we should all start this town somewhere.
And while we're at it, let's lock up any normal people that wander in the "Unfunny Farm". That is staffed only by llamas and geese, because geese are mean enough to keep them in line.

Normal is relative. let's say your at a star trek con... normal there, is not the same as normal... across the street at some business convention. so depending on which normal.. i think i'd be more or less the same as i am.

Why would I wish to fit in?

Normal people are morons, I'm not going to lower myself to their level to make them feel comfortable. Hell I'll probably exacerbate my stranger quirks just to watch them squirm.
