Nostalgia...too...strong...

As I stated 2 days ago, I just bought a PS3.

The problem?

I can't stop playing PS1 games! I've only put 3 hours in Ratchet & Clank Future 1.

I downloaded 5 RPGs off the store...Wild ARMs 1+2, Grandia, and FF 8+9.

Oh, the worst part of all this? I still had the discs for all of those games and didn't realize that the PS3 would play PS1 discs until I decided to try my copy of Tales of Destiny on a whim. So, that's $50 I could have spent on something else...

Tales of Destiny doesn't hold up well, if anyone who remembers it was wondering.

So...is anyone else indulging in some "retro" gaming?

Well I've been driving back into a few PS2 games lately (which is retro for me, my first console).

I've just tried to get back into Silent Hill 2 again. It's brilliant, but so scary I'm not sure I'll ever complete it without freaking out and giving up.

I've been using an emulator to play the Spyro series, and it's an awesome nostalgia trip so far.

Crash Bandicoot is great too, especially 2 and 3.

I bought quite a lot of old RPGs of the American PSN the other week, not got round to playing them much though. The PSN in America seens to have so much more choice than the UK/Europe one, it's terrible.

I still play my N64 on a whim and I have a fairly large collection of PS1/2 games to play on my PS3, I'd indulge in some NES gaming too, if it hadn't gotten sold...

I've been hitting up FF9 after finding Parasite eve at a used electronics store. For some reason PE made want to play FF9 again, Hell if I know why.


Though most of my games I buy any more are PS2 and older DS titles mainly for the cheap price points and the awesomeness of them.

You think that's bad? Try adding a PSP into the mix. Then you can DL and take your PS1 games on the road, and never ever NOT be playing them.

I've been playing through some gamecube games recently, although I only really play old zelda games, so much nostalgia from playing them when I was younger - Still love em'.

I recently played through Spyro as well, that was quite the nice trip down memory lane. The only problem was the graphical downgrade.

Cleaning out the attic we found our old N64 box with a fully functioning N64, Perfect Dark, and Majora's Mask. I was stoked.

I've been playing a lot of Source mods, and recently got Starcraft 2.

I have been playing Timesplitters: Future Perfect into submission, but really that's it.

And PS3s can play PS1 games? First I ever heard of that.

I still regularly play Gangsters 2 (2001) Jagged Alliance 2 (1999) Crusader Kings (2004, not so retro i guess) and some other 2000-2005 games.

Honestly, i yearn for a good squad tactics game, as good as JA2, the ufo after/whatever series by Cenega was pretty good (afterlight and aftershock anyways) but there's still something missing...
